Hipstamatic®

Title says it all in how I feel about this app. I have used the original Hipstamatic for many years (on and off). I totally understood how the app worked and definitely cranked out some amazing shots. This new app - i don’t get it. I don’t get these presets or how to switch out lenses and films. I’m not even sure if I’m still on a free trial and can I get out of it. In short I’d rather stick to the old app. I grew up with SLRs and later a DSLR - totally understanding concepts of photography. I’m not criticizing this app - I just don’t get it! I see others love it

It’s been fun using the app again.

Latest big release fixed all of my crashing problems. The app is now 100% useable and 1000% stable. I am in love with hipstamatic all over again. I’ve been using hipstamatic daily since it was first released in 2012 (I think?), and have a deep love for it. I’ve been really upset because I haven’t been able use this hipstamatic app without the daily crashing fight, but refused to stop regardless. Now I no longer have to fight with the app and can finally enjoy it. I absolutely love it now.

See above. ;). It enables me to keep connected to the analog side of things - it spices up my creativity and it keeps me with Apple whether I want to or not!

I did a deep dive into this app with the newest refresh that just hit in December 2023. So far I think it’s fun, and a great way to concentrate on the less technical and more creative aspects of photography (as a professional photographer, I sometimes get caught up in the technical, or the administrative functions of the job). If I had to nitpick….. let me assign shutter functionality to a volume button. Other than that, great app.

why does everything have to be subscription-based?

I used to live Hipstamatic, it was one of my favourite and most used apps. The simplicity of this once great app is now gone. In its place is a bloated, confusing mess. Don’t waste your time and money, not worth the frustration and hassle.

This is SO not a sure friendly update. It’s awful. Blurry dark viewfinder and way too many unnecessary confusing things happening around the edge of the viewfinder. Please bring back the old one, the previous update before all these massive chsnges. Wayyyyyyy to confusing. Not fun to use anymore. I don’t recommended this to anyone.
