I’m really enjoying using the new updated Hipstamatic camera club app. It’s motivating me to take at least a photo a day. My only gripe is it has a few bugs I can’t get passed, especially since the ios17.4 update it’s become very crashy, hopefully that’ll be resolved very soon.
Love the app and has always worked well, however since the latest release of IOS and the app, there have been a number of issues that is causing the app to freeze and become unresponsive. Unable to edit or enter challenges as the app stops working. Have to restart the app numerous times and possibly can enter a challenge. Despite developer being notified of ongoing bugs and update March 1st, still not resolved the issues.
I only ever shoot in Raw and since the update I can no longer upload . Support have acknowledged the bug but are seemingly very slow in solving the problem . I have deleted the app and basically have wasted my money on the years subscription.
WARNING. PLEASE DO NOT UPGRADE TO version 10. Over the last 8 years I must have spent £50 plus on various films and lenses. If you upgrade to the new version then all these these films and lenses will be locked. What the developers want is for you to join the CLUB for £19.99 to reactivate them. Also the camera crashes when you try to save a picture.
The newly released Version 10 upgrade is a nightmare. It’s bad enough having to post in square format on the Hipstamatic site but losing the option to change the aspect ratio is a killer for me. I produce and sell my artwork in European A sizes (A4, A3, A2 and A1) never in square format. Hipstamatic is an absolute key part of my process of multi image blending. By losing the ability to change the aspect ratio away from square, Hipstamatic have removed an integral part of my creative toolbox. I have also lost more than half of my cameras from the camera bag. This is one of the worst app upgrades I have encountered. What’s worse is that Hipstamatic give you no warning or indication that they have removed the ability to change the aspect ratio prior to getting you to upgrade. Had I known about this I would never have upgraded. In order to keep producing my artwork I need to remove this upgrade and go back to the previous version. Anyone know how I can do this? Hipstamatic have always been too arrogant to respond to criticism so I’m not expecting any help from them.
At its core Hipstamatic started life with a simple idea of quality film and lens simulation in a minimalist design. But no more It feels like developers have tried to justify their existence by creating something because they can and as a result the whole system of quick stylish photography has been lost and been replaced by a bloated mess of an app that doesn’t know what it is, has lost its soul and created a navigation system that is so far from intuitive that some options are only available in post processing. I’m not saying let’s go back to how it was but the philosophy that Hipsamatic started with made it stood out for a reason.
Long time fan of Hipstamatic as it’s helped me fall in love again with photography by making it a daily habit of taking a photo. The added social network is a welcomed bonus. Who needs other photo apps when you can have so much fun with Hipstamatic film and lenses.
The latest version doesn’t work on iPhone se. The feed screen where you see you profile and posts is to big for the size of the se screen meaning you can’t access some functions including settings.
I already have an account i don't want to create a new account with apple ID signup????!! Fix fix fix !!! What kind of Amateurs are you??? Also i have paid for a lifetime subscription for a product you no longer have???? If you want a social network release a new app!!!
Hey Hipsta Sort out your crashes! I’ve just renewed my membership and it’s constantly crashing. Loses my edits! Never saves them or even that I can’t save a particular easy auto style. I’m losing interest in this app. I might ask for a refund.
