Ice Cubes for Mastodon

I love Ice Cubes but a couple of bugs are driving me crazy. I like to keep boosts off to declutter my home timeline, but if I do that the app will only load a few posts until I go to another timeline and then back to home. Sometimes I have to do that twice to get it to load. Also I’ve gotten some crashes on posting or replying to a post lately.

The interface is great, I like that but the problem with posting I’m not sure why it’s not working. But other apps work just fine.

One of the main reasons for me choosing IceCubes was to browse local timelines other than on my own instance. As of about a week ago the app has no longer been saving my scrolling position on these timelines and instead I am sent to the most recent post. Timelines on my home server are still working correctly. I posted a query on IceCubes’ own Mastodon instance but I didn’t receive any help there. I’m using 1.10.42 on iOS 17.5.1, and I believe no settings were changed within the app. I will update my rating if this issue gets addressed.

Title says it all. It crashes. Not a lot, but more than enough to uninstall it.

Easily recommendable, best client for Mastodon bar none. It’s got all the best beeps and boops for interactions, beautiful color scheming, and it’s extremely efficient. The community is very interesting in that nearly everyone is mentally ill in some way or other, which is pretty awesome if you’re also mentally compromised like most of us on the internet. If you think you’re not just give it time, you’ll get there. And when you do, the friendly community at Mastodon will be there, or on X, or Facebook or whatever poison you’re using. We’re all screwed, really. But this app is pretty awesome. The dev posts bangers on Mastodon btw, give him a follow.

Since the Mastodon experience relies heavily on hashtags, the inability to mute hashtags from the timeline was a dealbreaker for me. (In Ivory, you can long press and mute the hashtag infinitely or for a period of time.) Other than that, this is a great app!

This is by far the most robust and feature packed mastodon client I’ve tried, I’ve been using it for a while now, and I gotta say, I love it, it’s so polished, beautiful layout, wonderful iPad layout, I highly recommend this client

looks very polished, supports most masto features, works with glitchsoc, customizable app icon and almost everything else. i do wish notification grouping were per day vs per unspecified time period because it still clutters up the notification tab that way. the notification filter ui doesnt work for me either, it pops up then immediately slides back down before i can even see the options. the app crashes sometimes as well.
