Ideal Halo

Okay for the average user, it’s a useful app, you are able to essentially turn the boiler or heat pump on and off and change a few settings but not all. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mirror all the functionality /information as on the Halo thermostat or the pre-plumbed hot cylinder interface. Certainly, I would like to see the scop reading on the app and energy efficiency for 1/7/30/356 days!! which for me is imperative and sole reason of downloading app.

Unable to link interface to this App. Reinstall App Tried to Resync the connection, still no joy

Continually have to remove app and reinstall due to message Retrying connection... please sort.

No problem at all using this with my ideal boiler

After all this time you would have thought Ideal would have sorted all the problems out. This app needs a complete overall.

Constantly ‘loses connection’ with the Cloud, no matter how many times you close and reopen the app. Seemingly resolves itself in its own time, not helpful for when you want to switch your heating on and off. Terrible troubleshooting such as ‘Check your WiFi router and boiler position has not been moved’, you mean did my boiler sprout legs and move in the last hour?

There is definitely something wrong with the halo system and or app. It ignores the boiler flow temperature setting and constantly tries to exceed it and therefore the boiler shuts off for 1min before trying again. Set the flow temperature to 70 and Halo loves to use high temperatures. It is supposed to modulate down but why doesn’t it know that the boiler flow is set much lower. There is constant overshooting meaning house is not comfortable. The only documentation is poor and does not explain how it uses load compensation and the weather compensation features. Ideal need to provide details (curves) so we can understand what these features do.

Why does it log you out of the app after a few weeks. Apart from that all good.

But it doesn’t work that well in reality. The hearing scheduling on the phone app is different from that on the little round hub thing. Heating is coming on at unscheduled times. No idea what is causing the flaw. It’s such a pity because it could be see brilliant.
