Now moving to a chargeable business model, I understand that times change but……. I signed up to an “always free” app, I stopped using joist when they started charging as I believe there are better chargeable apps out there. Now to access my historical info they want me to subscribe, I understand that they should not be expected to store my data free of charge since they are backtracking on their “always free” model but the only way to do this is to download them individually, I have about 2000 invoices over the last 8 years. Seriously……. Disingenuousness Avoid at all costs Removed the PDF invoice . Nooooooooo This has to be one of the best apps I have ever downloaded... Of any type. Free... No in app purchases. Really flexible... Use regular items and adapt add descriptions. Duplicate invoices for regular work. The list just goes on.

Full app was free years ago, then was changed to just 5 invoices a month and features removed unless you paid which was disappointing as an early adopter and often sent feedback on improvements. Now it’s no longer free, they want £8 a month for the cheapest monthly sub. I only send a handful a month, sometimes months go by without sending any invoices. Worst part of joist is the customer is sent a link to download the invoice adding an extra step to cause late payments, it used to send a PDF. So I’ve been having to send myself the link, downloading the invoice and emailing it to the customer. Recently upgraded my Monzo account and pay £5 a month and includes invoicing and is far better than joist. Monzo creates PDF in app and can send it straight from there. I also unsubscribed to emails and keep getting them. Zero stars.

Since the update at the weekend, my clients aren’t getting any of my estimates or invoices. The only way they’re getting them is if I send myself a copy and then forward that email on, which is strange I can send myself a copy but not my clients? This needs resolved ASAP

I have been running my fencing and project management company successfully with joist for years . Always had great back up from the team and now enjoying Joist Pro at a ridiculously cheap price .. Cheers Guys x

Another great free app that went from a great app to having standard features removed to attempt people to buy to now becoming useless with only 5 free document a month. It was good whilst it lasted. Thankfully this forced me to look around and now using Zoho invoicing which has far more features and completely free.

I fully understand that for all the professional upgrades you should pay, but to cut everybody off with five free basic invoices a month is poor. The pro version is also too expensive for those who just want to make a basic invoice, especially with other bigger accounts apps being cheaper. It’s disappointing as I’ve used them from the start, for a smaller second company.

I been with Joist for very long time over 4 years defiantly. Just got a email today which absolutely let me down, the free to use will now restrict me to only making 5 invoices a Month, trying to force into payed version of App. There are many good apps now that I have discovered which are free overall which I’ll be turning to. Was a good App though until this. Oh well. Best wishes.

This used to be a great app which was free. Then they started charging for your image on invoices and now you only get 5 free invoices per month! This is ridiculous as most people will use more than this in a month. The monthly price to do the few invoices that we do is crazily priced and we will now be looking else where for an app that offers better value for money.

Fantastic software, I’ve used this app for nearly 5 years as a sole trader. I took the time to read the T&C’s before using to ensure I wouldn’t end up penalised with high usage costs. Upgrades have been added at different levels that do require a fee which I have subscribed to and I highly recommended. My favourite feature is the notifications when a client opens the email then quote/invoice, brilliant.

Been using this app for the last few years & it's made my business look more professional & easy for customers to follow. The app covers all my business needs & is so easy to use. I would & have recommended it to my fellow tradesmen. Another handy feature is that it tell you when the invioce or estimate has been opened. Puts a stop to customers claiming they didn’t get the invioce & therefor delaying payment.
