Possible Evernote alternative with spontaneous support and no real manual
In theory this could be the very best alternative to Evernote on Mac and iOS/iPad. If you read on their website what Keep It can do, it seems to be the real Evernote killer. There are also a few articles online that gives a positive view. But when moving from theory to practoce, that is where I get second thoughts. Import from Evernote works good and rather fast, even if the import to Apple Notes of Evernote-files was just as flawless. But then ... when I added a note with a pdf to the app in Mac, it took forever to sync. Some files didn’t sync for hours, so I had to delete and start over. Apple Notes synced very fast. When I changed a note on Mac it didn’t update on my iPhone. Still after a couple of hours it hadn’t updated. So my conclusion: if you just work on Mac OR iOS it’s probably a good choise. If you want to sync between Mac and iOS as of today I find Keep It giving me grey hair. And I can´t really find an answer to my problem on their website. And the company support isn’t responding to questions forcdays, if ever. Some have pointed out to me that it is one person behind this and that many people are moving from Evernote, so he probably gets a lot of emails. I could buy that explanation if this was a free app. But it isn’t. If you get both the Mac and iOS/iPadOS versions you pay 4 euros more per year than the discounted offer from Evernote for their Premium I got when I didn’t renew. At full, price Keep It costs less though-about 30% less or so per year. So it is only fair to include the support in a review. And the support at Reinvented Software is really sub-par. Which worries me. So for now I’ll go all in on Apple Notes instead.
