I just started using this. I needed an app that works across android and iOS. Wished it worked on pc maybe as a web version. The barcode scanner doesn’t seem to work often with food in my country (Singapore) or Asian products. Also I hope they make a receipt scanner like other apps have as it will greatly reduce the time it takes to enter things after I’ve done my shopping.
For a price like this it’s already expensive but still a somewhat better option if you don’t want to pay for a subscription like most of these apps want you to.(I haven’t found a single one that has offered a one time purchase option except for this one)but however I am giving 1 star for a basic feature that should have been added that isn’t here and it’s the fact I cannot view all my favorites at once! I have to either add the recipes to a meal plan or just delete some to view what other recipes I have favorited which is pretty ridiculous for the fact that apps like these are supposed to be organized and yet still ignoring such a simple feature, what a very disappointing $30 purchase. ☹️ Edit:everything just becomes more and more disappointing I tried to create a recipe and while uploading them to the internet is great not everyone wants to share their own recipes like there’s people out there who has their own secret krabby patty formula Mr. Krabs would never want his secret formula to be revealed!
I highly recommend this app. I like this app so much I paid for the lifetime subscription. I’ve only had a few problems and the support team has had them resolved in as little as a few minutes of sending them an email; no problem took more than 8 hours to fix. All app support should be this good!
Catalogued my entire food stock and then discovered I needed to pay for a subscription to continue. I wouldn’t be mad about it if it was disclosed up front, but it wasn’t. I don’t have the budget for an extra expense right now, and wouldn’t have spent so much time scanning and entering everything in my kitchen had I known I had to pay to continue. Please just be up front about this.
Writing this cause latest update has my app crashing 100% of the time. The page flickers on and then closes. Hope there’s a fix coming
Overall, I would say that the app is a little bit slow, but I know it’s searching a whole database full of different foods. I really like that I can switch to storage for you so I can know that I have pantry items or fridge items. The fridge items are the ones that go off quite quickly. I would like to be able to enter the actual expiration date instead of saying six months one month a year. In one case I had to add an item. It was a store brand dressing and it expires in less than a year but over nine months so I chose nine months just to tell me. I sort of want notifications of expiring through this, but on the other hand, I don’t know how diligent I will be even entering that information. I went through a few applications, and I think this one is the one that’s going to stick. I hope it’s quite the feet to go through my entire pantry and scan everything but at least we can scan, that is a huge bonus.
We use the app to monitor inventory for an assisted living group home and have multiple staff who handle the inventory regularly. This app has allowed us to simply scan and delete as items are received and used and monitor levels while managers are away from the house. Absolutely love the ease of using this app and how quick we can get everything scanned in so we can get back to caring for our residents. You won’t be disappointed paying for the premium membership
In a household with 2 ADHD adults who love food and love to impulse shop, this has been a big help in managing our kitchen inventory so we don’t overbuy. We can review what’s available in the depths of the deep freeze so we don’t lose any fingers. We’re more likely to cook at home with the recipes and planner functions than decide we don’t have anything at the house and order takeout instead. We already had a shared grocery list, but that’s been replaced too since KitchenPal has the shared shopping list included (with the auto add function for when we use the last of an item). The cherry on top is that it works great on my iPhone and on my husband’s android!
Love this app. Actually a time saver.
