Kortext FAQ
Is Kortext free?
Yes, Kortext is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Kortext legit?
🤔 The Kortext app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
Reading in iPad is counterproductive. It takes much more to highlight text, and it is really irritating to the point that I won't buy any more box for kortext because I need to read a lot of books and kortext is delaying me. Please check Apple Books: check the experience, how the apple pen slide and highlights it easily. Think about the journey and what your solution was designed for.
Written for tablets
Kortext is made for tablets. And on a tablet it does work fairly. On computers and laptops, it is horrible to navigate through books.
Kortex reader doesn’t work
I was hoping to use the Kortext reader but it doesn’t seem to work on the iPad.
Kills iPhone6 battery drastically
After 2h reading (using Kortex reader) outside at +3'C in a cloudy day iPhone turns down with low battery. It happened already twice to me.
Normally battery lasts up to 2 days for me. I never have the same using other applications.
Good concept, worst app
The concept of this app is amazing. However it has so many bugs. Across all devices my notes disappear and I have to restart the app to see them again. FIX IT!!!!
Not intuitive
Hard to use; would prefer it had page numbers & its could be more streamlined for lazy students
Frustrating.
It is impossible to select the exact page numbers you want to print. The “from” “to” bar is simply unfit for the purpose. Why can we not just type the page numbers ourselves? Munch simpler.
Also it is very stupid that as you hit “print” the print allowance decreases: only to realise that the app has got bugs and the print preview shows completely different pages than those you selected. So you try again thinking you selected wrong. Nope, not your fault. But now you don’t have print allowance anymore.
Finally it would be nice to be able to collect books in folders. Otherwise you have a myriad of books of various topics all together and that’s just so messy.
Good reader but horrible for taking notes
I wish this thing wasn’t so hyper sensitive and over responsive when i’m trying to highlight things. Using this on an ipad there’s no apple pencil capability and the touch screen means my pages are constantly flicking between one another.
Just wish it was better as this is the only way i can read most of my textbooks for university.
useless
all round terrible to use and I have not been able to get the read aloud functionality to work despite trying on multiple devices/app versions/browsers. so obstructive
Text on bottom and top of pages cropped by page slider
In order to read the material at the end or beginning of a page, I have to minimise or maximise the text/page and try locate it, otherwise it is hidden behend the bottom page slider. Any change in the Kortex window size, ie dragging side bar slightly - distorts the page and text massively; it makes no sense as the "pages" should simply be available as pages, not an abstraced sheet that is cropped beyond view.
