super slow, reverts my edits?!

tkelo on

I type something, press the play button, then the eye button. Nothing is updated. And then my source file changes disappear. Also very slow..

Little bit buggy but is pretty useable for now

I was looking for a good LaTeX compiling app for my ipad to edit documents on the go or when i do not have my laptop available to me. My LaTeX knowledge isn't the best therefore this app makes it easy to test out things i learn online. However, i have noticed the app can be slightly buggy at times. When i close a piece of code i'm working on and reopen it, the app lags and does not open the file. Instead i have to close the app and reopen it to access the files. Which can be very annoying, especially if working on multiple files at once. Another issue i noticed is the inconsistency for new changes made to the code to save. I believe a dedicated save button would make this much easier. Future advances the app could make are having a prediction system that suggests what functions or references i am typing as this would make it much easier and quicker to code. It would also reduce the chances of any errors. Overall, i would say the idea is amazing the UI is quite friendly however the app needs to iron out bugs and add new features to make it a more premium experience. But for now it is a nice compliment to a LaTeX complier on PC for on the go use.

Needs obvious save button.

Got potentials but almost unusable in the current state

The app is very slow when editing. I write anything and it takes forever for my sentences to appear. I got the latest Ipad pro 12.9 so I know it’s not an issue with the hardware. Please fix.

A complete waste of time

ALL your edits are LOST as soon as you tap ANYTHING!

Doesn’t work with google drive

sp-99 on

Looks like it has potential, but all files are greyed out when using it with google drive. If I try and create a file on google drive, it gives the error: “ Unable to Import Document An error occurred while trying to import a document: The operation couldn't be completed. (com.apple.DocumentManager error 1.)” Google drive works fine with the normal Apple Files app, so it must be something to do with this app. Will be happy to give a better rating if this gets fixed!

Needs fixing

matternys on

You say it’s the best editor for latex but that is a little bit too ambitious in my opinion. Or perhaps it’s better to say too arrogant maybe? I can see the potential in the app, and I believe that it can become one of the top three but it is nowhere near it at the moment. For starters, I can’t even get the app working properly, because (I don’t know why but) it stopped saving the .tex file properly and now it does not update when I update the text file and the preview does not show the PDF doc. It seems to have some issues with Apple’s file manager app. So basically it’s broken now. I even turned off and on my iPad but it still does not work. I have been trying to test the app to give you the opportunity for a good review but instead I have to say that it still requires work. Perhaps I could try again after some fixing has been done. I should really be giving it one star or zero star as it is not working at the moment, but as I see potential in the app, I will give it three stars.

Good

Edit— developer response was quick and the app is now much better Started out good but quickly became worse, the editor kept reverting to old saves meaning several pieces of work were lost. The app then bugged completely with the editor continually moving the cursor to the end of the file making editing impossible and the app unusable. Tried restarting the app and my device but to no avail.
