Fantastic app for your papers

I host my files on a local WebDAV server, which has been working well for over a year. This new update breaks this. The accounts page still shows server verified, but all the files say that the attachment cannot be found. The same settings are working on my iPad with the previous version.
I was so happy when I found out Zotero had a mobile app, and hsve downloaded it on all my devices. Especially the barcode-scan-to-add function is golden. Only things I would like to see change to make it truly efficient to use, though: The ability to search for a specific item in my library, without entering the right collection first. Currently I seem to only be able to search collections, or enter the correct collection and then search for the item. The second point is more of a bug report: The function to opt out of auto-attatching related pdf-files to items added by identifier/barcode doesn’t seem to work. I’ve got it turned off, but any of my scans still get a pdf of the cover or contents or something attached, which I then feel the meed to go and delete manually (to save the space).
Overall the app is good, but every now and then it just crashes without any warning. Generally quite buggy
Honestly, I love Zotero. Thanks to everyone who works on it in their free time! It made my thesis and everything else so much easier, especially adding the iPad app. The only thing I sometimes find a bit confusing is the usage of the icons in annotation mode: the marker looks more like a writing option. Maybe make the icons a bit more intuitive? The thing is, that is the only thing I don’t “like”… So great job!
Every time I’ve tried to open the app today to access my resources, it’s crashed before even being able to view the list. And there’s only 3 days left before my assignment is due. I regret using this app to compile my research.
As a postgraduate student, I've only switched my workflow to Zotero recently - it's replaced a reference manager and a PDF highlighter for me and integration with my note taking app allows me to work much more seamlessly. Saves me hours of work on each paper. Top features for me: - Automatic referencing - PDF download and offline highlighting - Integration with MS Word to quickly import references (PC); seems to work great with LaTeX too!! - Plugins on PC to personalise it to what I need it for - Integration with Obsidian, which is my note management app (also recommend!) - Colour tags to highlight what I need to do, have done and am working on (or for anything else you might want the for) What could be added: - Maybe a short description for each collection (other than the name; a note can be inserted inside of the folder so it's not a huge issue) - Article numbers can occasionally show in "pages" field with some less common referencing styles.
I was really delighted when I found it possible to enjoy Zotero on my iPad and iPhone for articles. What I am looking forward to is an RSS synced with my PC subscription since I believe it’s perfect to kill time with my phone and pad reading these fractured RSS information when I’m on the way to work.
I use Zotero to sync papers and notes across 5 devices and everything works really nicely - the integration with browser extensions to add papers directly is a joy! I bought a subscription to support the team, and it was worth every cent. Only missing feature is the ability to have separate colours for the highlighter and the pen annotations - that’d be the cherry on the cake!
I was a beta tester for this app and it continues to be a fantastic reference manager. I would however like to see better filtering within folders. At the moment, one can only filter by whether the file is downloaded or not and not by tags which would be really helpful, at least to me. I tag my items based on whether I’ve read them or not or whether I need to take notes on them, so filtering in this way would be a great help.
