Description

LESS - Alcohol Tracker
Less is a simple, elegant, intuitive tool to help people who drink alcohol do so more mindfully, and make space for more drink-free days. From the creators of ZERO, the top rated fasting app, Less makes it easy to track your alcohol intake so you can stay aware of how much you drink and when. It’s a science-based approach to taking control of your consumption. As the saying goes, “What gets measured gets managed.”
This app is a judgment-free zone. It’s designed to help anyone who wants to moderate alcohol consumption, no matter what the reason. Whether you’re trying to sail through social situations without overdoing it, overwhelmed by the ocean of work functions involving alcohol, or seeking to chart a course toward better health, Less is your companion to navigate these stormy waters.
**This is v1 of “the drinking buddy that helps you drink less.” We’re rapidly iterating and improving, so we welcome feedback to help make Less as upbeat, engaging, and helpful as possible.**
MEET LES AND LESLIE
Choose to experience the journey toward mindful consumption as either Les or Leslie. You’re the captain of this ship, and every decision is yours. As you log drinks, your daily intake affects the weather while your weekly intake affects your speed. Stay under your daily limit to keep the skies sunny. Stay under your weekly limit to keep the wind at your back. If you exceed your limits, you’ll run into stormy weather and slow your progress.
TRACK YOUR JOURNEY
SET LIMITS. Our algorithm will recommend a weekly limit, but you can customize that limit up or down to work at your own pace.
LOG DRINKS WITH A TAP. Quickly and easily log each drink from the homescreen, or use the widget to add drinks without opening the app for a more discrete tracking experience.
BUILD STREAKS. Less tracks how many drink-free days you rack up in a row so you can visualize your progress.
REVIEW YOUR WEEK. See when you drank and how much. Use this information to inform your choices moving forward.
REVIEW YOUR MONTH. The calendar view lets you see your entire consumption history so you can see the big picture of your alcohol intake.
CHART YOUR PROGRESS. Less transforms your inputs into easy-to understand graphs so you can see how your habits evolve over time.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
With Less, you can…

Less is the only app on the market that allows for SIMPLE drink tracking. I wish so much that it worked. every time I go to log a drink, there is a huge lag where I can only log drinks on the last day I logged drinks. In order to log drinks TODAY, I always have to turn my phone off completely and turn it on again. Otherwise, it only gives me the option to add drinks to past days. Super pain in the butt lol.

Seems the dev gave up

Did yall just give up on this app? No updates for 2 years. It’s extremely laggy and could use some major feature updates. I have years worth of data in here so it’s not exactly easy to just switch over to somewhere else. What a shame.

Less is more?

Hdbrooksie on

Only one week, but Less is what I needed to make a difference in my drinking. Before the pandemic I was consistently two a day. Since then, I have been all over the map with no dry days, up to seven a day. Three dry days in the first week! Logging drinks makes perfect sense to me and is working. Less is more than I expected.

Good basic app, missing some key features

Margareta87 on

It's a simple and useful app for what it does, but it has a few issues that keep it from being five stars: - You can only some times go back and edit past days. So if you have a drink or two at a party and want to record them the next day, many times you can't, so you have to record them on your current day. - If you change your goal, it retroactively adjusts all your past weeks in light of the new goal. So if, say, you were successful with a target of 5 drinks/week for six months, then you want to drop it to 4, Less will then show all your past weeks/months as over limit based on the new target. This creates a disincentive for lowering your target; they should be incentivising it. - You can see a total number of drinks for the year, but not an average drinks/week. So you can't see how you met your goal on average over time.

Great accountability partner

Let’s face it no one ever counts or remembers how many or what day but this app helps you keep yourself accountable. I have been using it for over a year and it will keep you on track whatever your goal is.

Data question

Spacebits on

Am I missing a way to “finish” drinking that day so the next evening when I open the app it is on today’s date and shows 0 drinks? It also says I haven’t had any drinks today and I’ve marked down that I’ve had three… makes no sense.

Some improvements to share

pokemonkidlover69 on

I enjoy the app a lot. I don’t mind refreshing the app since it’s whatever. The app looks great and does the job. I do wish there was a custom feature to assign costs instead of adjusting a cost for all drinks. Like for Thursday, I’d adjust the cost for a drink with my bottle at home less than one from a bar. Same with a restaurant thing. Of course, it matters very little with the grand scheme of things but it’s something to enjoy the app more.

Needs some changes

This is a great app overall but it’s very frustrating it does not refresh unless you close the app.

Simple and effective!

The app is very user friendly and works!
