Lido mPilot Reviews

Fiddly

Pagemakers on

United Kingdom

Fiddly to use. Annotating anything with Apple Pencil is almost impossible. Jepp FD Pro much better.

Charts OK

DAFox99 on

United Kingdom

Charts are ok. Trying to find something in the document section is awful. If I make a mistake when annotating a chart why does it remove all the annotations on the chart. It could be so much better

Annotate has been ruined

Themikeyd on

United Kingdom

Please just use the apple bolt on API for markup. At least give us the undo tool and move annotations back. Designed by IT for pilots with seemingly no desire to accept feedback from the people that use it.

Downgrade from the previous version

Alexander-Hat on

United Kingdom

Please bring back the previous annotation feature, this one isn’t fit for purpose. Also, when swiping between charts using two fingers you never get the chart in the same position as you left it.

New annotation feature is a significant downgrade

lufthansabonanaza on

United Kingdom

Frustratingly the new annotation feature is a bit of a downgrade to previous version. You used to be able to write on charts exactly like you would on a piece of paper, useful for agreeing gates on an approach or for writing how you were planning to configure. Also the undo function made it very easy to correct mistakes. Now the app doesn’t recognise the writing utensil properly, be it finger or Apple Pencil, to the point where it’s not useable. Frustrating considering the Apple Pencil works so well with everything else… Other features I can live with as just changes, but most of the new features are progress for the sake of progress and not improvements. Overall the updated version has brought less flexibility to what was actually a pretty good app before.

Preferred the old notation style

Ozmundy on

United Kingdom

Was much better with the old palette and the ability to move notations and drawings. Any chance of having them replaced? Also, a proper method of feeding back suggestions would be better, instead of having to do it through Appstore…

Annotation and AOI presentation changes a big step backwards

London Flaneur on

United Kingdom

In the latest version the annotation options are much more limited. The very useful features that have been removed are: - ‘undo’ button - option to drag and resize annotations - palette with lots of colours (limited to three bland ones now) - the app remembering selected colours and line widths - the ability to tap an annotation to bring up the delete option Overall, the options and functionality are much more limited and the whole annotation part of the app is clunky and not user-friendly. It’s hard work to draw anything in advance (if you make a mistake it’s now four screen taps instead of one) and almost impossible to do it on the fly (e.g. for visualising taxi instructions as we’re being cleared for them). It’s now not a feature I feel I can use. The AOI pages are now lumped into one page, which means the bookmark and clipboard functions are useless for highlighting the one or two sections which might have been relevant. Instead you have to scroll through the whole lot each time you need to refer to it. I don’t understand why these changes have been made and why someone thought they would make the platform better. I would like to see the developer revert to the previous functionality as there was nothing wrong with it. The option to select a runway and then view only its associated charts is, however, an improvement.

Chart annotation change is awful. Documents section appalling

Aaaaaaahhh! on

United Kingdom

As per other reviews, the Documents section is appalling & barely usable. The recent change to how charts are manually annotated is dreadful, please change it back. If not possible offer users own choice of colours, remembering your selection of pen width & the ability to delete individual annotations (rather than all or nothing). It would be useful if the App developer actually listened to this feedback but I’m not sure they do!

V6.1 is dreadful

nirish rob on

United Kingdom

Version 6.1 makes an already awkward app close to unusable. Finding charts is slower and harder, you can no longer move annotations and highlighted info, the approach charts have been divided into three for god knows what reason. Just when you thought LIDO couldn’t get worse - it did!

Hard to work with

34567dfghj on

United Kingdom

The documents section has always been a pain to find what you are looking for… Charts were fine though. Just updated the charts, and I now can’t see any enroute chart. It says that it is not available.
