Learning Marathi - As good as Duolingo, if not better.
I tried this out since Duolingo did not have Marathi as an option, and I’m surprised cause this is even better than I’d expected. Simple easy to use UI, good reward system and sound effects, and easily gets you upto speed with coherent learning methods. Absolutely must have app for anyone looking to learn Indian languages.
Review
Finally, an app like Duolingo for Malayalam—something I’ve been waiting for ages! I came across this app and absolutely love it. I actually found out about it through Elikutty’s website, where she highly recommended it in her learning resources. Can’t wait to see this app reach great milestones with even more updates and improvements. Such a fantastic resource for learning Malayalam!
Beautiful Interface
I really like the interface and it seems really fun. I started learning Telugu and can’t find alphabets though, directly pronunciation of phrases. It would be good if we first learnt alphabets. I’d considering paying if this was introduced for Indian languages + dark mode.
Edit: You’re absolutely right. In fact Telugu is indeed my mother tongue and I already know the phrases. However, I do not know the alphabet/script, since I’ve been staying in a state where a different language is spoken.
I just wanted to know if alphabets are taught eventually in these Indian languages (there does seem to be finger-writing technology for a few languages).
Why
Why need payment very bad
The app is excellent for learning languages which aren’t mainstream
My only issue is that I practice my language learning on an ipad and it doesn’t have potrait mode which can make it very inconvenient to rest the ipad as all the cases are designed to be used in potrait mode. Please rectify this!
Learning path is not correct for Malayalam
I am learning Malayalam as a beginner. The app has right away started with the phrase learning exercise. However the phrase is in Malayalam in the quiz without providing lessons on the alphabets.
So I do not have a correct foundation to start learning the language the way it is shown in the quiz. It should start with teaching the alphabets first then the phrase forming.
Wonderful Interface
Hello Team,
I love the way you designed the interface and the way it teach us to learn.
It is super interactive with the learner.
The main concern to use this application is the cost. Many people download this application to learn language as a hobby.
But, when a hobby comes with a price most of will not be interested anymore to use the application.
A beginner and intermediate learner is who is just trying to put interest in new hobby.
A beginner or intermediate will not dare to take a subscription as in this busy life we may or may not continue to learn the language.
I suggest to put a subscription when a user want to learn the advanced level.
If we came till advanced level it means we are ready to pay to learn.
I hope you find this review helpful.
Thank you,
Rushyender Reddy
DuoLingo but better. Native indic language support
Slightly harder than DL but you can learn any Indic language. Beautiful interface in Hindi. Please consider reducing subscription prices. It costs 5x Duolingo. Else absolutely smashing app. Great job
Wow!
This is just like duolingo but has many languages!
