I used this app while I was taking German lessons in school a few years ago. It was very helpful, and really incentivised my learning- I’d literally spend hours on the app doing my German lessons to help me learn the language outside of school and to give me a better grasp of the language from other sources. I still love the app, but don’t take German lessons anymore. I am currently trying to learn Polish (I am half Polish, but wasn’t brought up with the language) and have been for almost two years on a certain bird based learning app which I do find to be a bit of a drag, but I am committed to the streak, and that’s why I continue on said app. I would LOVE to see more languages, selfishly with Polish included, brought onto the app in the future, as currently the selection is still very slim. From what I remember from using the app, there was nothing else to complain about- it has grown so much in the last couple of years which is amazing to see! But as I said, I do really wish there were more languages available on it.

Was okay. They really push you to pay for their premium but it’s not worth it without a free trial because you don’t know if you’ll get bored or get locked out of the game. Oh yeh. The game stopped working after a few hours and I had to delete and reinstall. The fact I had to do all that already means it’s not worth even the free version

I recommend it so much, helps sm more w my learning than other apps have. I actually pay attention to this one unlike others

I’m actually enjoying this game! I like video games and language learning and lingo legend puts them together.

Not been playing long but this is exactly how I want to learn everything from now on! I’ll be buying premium as soon as I am able, to help support the future of this game!!

A fun way of consolidating vocabulary and grammar despite quite a few mistakes in words and spelling in the European Portuguese version. Enjoying playing but latest update seems to have broken my game .

I’ve been trying to find a gamified language learner for ages. I used to use Mindsnacks and loved it - making language learning super fun and not a chore is an amazing way for anyone to learn and I certainly got better. But, they took it off the AppStore!!! Every now and then I look at the apps around to see if there is anything that comes close. There wasn’t - until now! I haven’t been playing very long but it’s awesome. I want to keep playing more and at the same time I’m learning. It’s fun, well made, addictive and a useful tool. I love it, thanks so much to the development team - hopefully this review brings you some extra support so you can keep up the good work! PS. I’m currently on the lower levels, so it doesn’t cost much energy to play, but if the free version is going to be fun and helpful to people then I think energy needs to slowly build over the course of the day and not just reset - one lesson a day might not be enough!

Only thing is it is only geared toward beginners. Which is no problem as it is a really fun way to pick up the basic phrases in a new language you want to learn!

I was hoping to find a game like this, which allows you to learn a language in bite-size chunks while also adding pressure for getting things wrong. The gameplay is very fun!! But there are a few ideas I’ve had to improve: > Combat is slow. Animations should be faster/ turned off, to focus more on the learning aspect. Turn should end when no cards can be played, so I don’t have to click the button every time. It gets a bit tedious. > You could incorporate more of the language into the game/story: Characters could exclaim expressions for “Charge!!” Or “Ouch!” When they attack/ take damage IN the language, to help you learn these phrases as well! In the story, they say lines like “we need to get WOOD”, and WOOD could easily be replaced with the word for wood in the language you are learning! Also when you are cutting a tree to harvest wood, why not replace words like “Nice” “Amazing!” With the words in the language you are learning? > The cards should have their titles in the language you are learning!! It would be so cool if the cards like “Bash” and “Cobra Strike” had the, say, German names, and then when you click the title you can see what it is in English. It would help you remember these words too, because you shout them out whenever you do the attack!! I am very fond of this style of game. I would like to support it. As a consumer, I think the prices could be targeted towards the average player more, and giving a bit more incentive to purchase premium options. The prices I’d pay would be £4.99/month, £22.99/6mnth, or £39.99/yr. Maybe add a new character, like some cool armoured knight, that you can only play as while you are a premium member. Sir Bilingwall the 3rd! But overall, this is a fun tool for learning a language and I really hope it develops well!!

I didn't know what to expect going in, i’ve been trying to learn Japanese for a while now but my ADHD is too prone to getting sidetracked. I saw this and gave it a download and was pleasantly surprised that it was able to grip my attention in a way that kept me focused, motivated and remembering the things i learned! I must say that the premium makes life a lot easier on the game due to its limited energy restriction, so i bought a month of it and i’ll see where im at once the month is up. Maybe if im still deep into it, i’ll purchase a longer subscription.
