On its way, but remains cavalier

The PKM crown is there for the taking, but since its inception Logseq has always had an awkward relationship with stability. There is one non-negotiable feature any notes app must have: it cannot lose data that has been entered. If this is happening then you need to stop everything you’re doing and make sure it doesn’t happen any more.

iOS version need more work

Hoey77 on

I use Logseq daily on desktop and on the iPad Pro but find the iOS version weird to use doesn’t seem to be familiar and work odd

Potentially awesome

This has so much potential but the one think holding me back from really getting into it is that it doesn’t allow the use of integrated Files App connections such as NextCloud. Now, if it did that, this would rock the massive!

This is great .. but still buggy

Works well and permits some useful flexible approaches to PKM in a clean UI on iOS devices. I do chime with the outliner approach where every bullet is an addressable block… a little different to the obsidian approach -some folk just prefer one approach over the other ** UI on a phone due to layout and clarity is one of the best for this type of app **There continue to be some significant bugs that can be very frustrating ( some have existed for some time and some that are new. ).. eg my daily note sometimes just disappears never to be seen again !!! Trust must be fundamental to any app ** I guess as Logseq is still not yet at version 1 this can be expected.. but I am getting the sense that mobile app is not currently the priority as desktop version feels more robust. (I have become aware that this is likely an iCloud issue as iCloud is really not very good for several 3rd party apps) ** Overall I’d say Logseq has a lot of potential and importantly feels really good and uncluttered on an iPhone with a fluid workflow.. nice 🙂 .. but beware data losses

Been trialing following some time with obsidian .. seeking better security and ideally avoidance of electron on Mac where possible… however even though the electon scenario persists even with logseq on the whole I do like Logseq. Great concept, largely unusable

iPadOS touch GUI is very limited and temperamental, inconsistent behaviour with identically marked up page text. LogSeq also changed how page properties work, which breaks the system I’ve set up.

Logseq is excellent, but has major bugs and flaws.

Bleak Midwinter on

The most important thing: Logseq is excellent. The basic design of the software - block-based outliner with built in queries - is rock solid. This will be one of the top tools I hope to use in the future. I already find it a huge improvement on other tools, and have replaced them with Logseq. The downsides: 1. Can't publish a graph with query results included, which makes publishing a graph a pointless exercise right now. 2. On iPad OS, you can't copy and paste whole blocks - just text lines. This used to work, so presumably it's a short term bug. 3. Documentation. It's early days yet, but the documentation around how to write queries and format results is very weak and needs some serious improvement. I have every confidence that this will be a 5*, must have app in the future. Disclaimer: I have donated money to Logseq.

Great start and concept!

Logseq is much easier than other Markdown-based editors yet very powerful. Complete ownership of the database is a great idea that sync just fine. iOS does need to have lots of tweaks to match Notion capabilities and speed but is already powerful. I would vote for improvements: - the easier block-handling (drag and drop, clone, remove with the button in the toolbar) - ability to drag input cursor (space-pressed) across all the blocks at the same time (Notion recently added that) - easier way to config and adapt themes with interface - embedded epub / fb2 reader support to have highlights and books together.

This is the one I’ve needed all my life.

Great App to Cultivate Your Digital Garden

I’ve loved Logseq on the computer since the beginning. Now, being able to sync, read, and also write, on the mobile and iPad is fantastic.
