This app has no free trial but since there was a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed, & a No Risk Guarantee, I availed of a promo offer for 6 months. After paying for that, i was dismayed to find that there were maybe 10 upgrade offers, presented one after the other (you don’t know what comes next), each costing 25% of what I realized was a super basic app. Verb Tenses, what I needed to learn, did not appear until much later. By then, I had already paid more than I wanted to pay, even with the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. After 4 days, I asked for my money back. The app was tedious to use. The method of vocabulary teaching involves introducing each word in a single sentence with the translation below the sentence. After 80 different words (sets of nouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs), there’s a fill in the missing word quiz and a complete the sentence quiz, each with 20 items and no audio, just text. Then there is a role play chat which is text based (you can press the audio icon to play what is said and press on the mic to answer but the reply is converted to text so the conversation ends up being an exchange if text messages). When I asked for my money back, the reply after a day asked why. No response to my answer until I wrote again to ask for my money back. Then I was informed that of the terms of the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. I should have used the app for 7 consecutive days and asked for the refund within 10 days of purchase. The request for refund would be subject to evaluation. These conditions do not appear anywhere on the app’s ads, the purchase page, or webpage. I was not informed of conditions the first time I complained, after 3 days of boring myself with the app. When I argued my case, i was given an extension of the 10 days so that I could try the app for 7 consecutive days. I was unable to do 7 consecutive days (the app is that tiresome and boring. Had it been fun, I would not have missed days) Two days ago, I asked again for a refund. No reply til now.

In conversations with AI, their ability to understand what I say is very poor. I am not quite fluent in French, but can express my thoughts well, and have gotten by well in France and have been understood. Two advanced level AI tutors have failed miserably to understand me. The only plus is that I can understand them, even in sped-up mode. Very disappointing.

Useless my advice to not download it ever

Useless. You sign up and in the small print is an auto renew. No emails sent prior to the renewal date. The app was so bad that I didn’t even remember it until the renewal came through. Customer support is a bit with platitudes and nothing else. If I could give the whole thing less than one star I would. Scam for the money side and useless ai for the learning

It seems like it could be a great app. But as of now, there are a ton of technical issues… the AI robot repeats the same reply over and over again. One time, it wasn’t even responding anything at all just completely blank responses. Sometimes I can’t get it to play the audio. They have a lot of work to do, to make this app worthwhile… So my opinion as of now, is don’t waste your time or your money. Hopefully they will continue to work on and improve the app, maybe then it would be worth it.

Avatar AI available for 2 minutes only. If you download app just to try for advertised 1.99 (or something like that) don't forget to unsubscribe sending email to support team. Otherwise you'll be charged 16/month. Feel like a scam. Nothing special about this app.

Awful cancel policy. Awful app.

I purchased the app to used the AI generated conversations feature and did this successfully once. This feature has now disappeared. I have not found a way to contact the developer to resolve this.

I wrote a review already, but I still have not been able to cancel my subscription & no one has even replied. If you’ve seen their adds on instagram, they are false, the app does not work with an AI teacher & they try to upsale you for everything. Shame on them for taking peoples money & not delivering what they say they are selling!

Won’t give you a refund if you are dissatisfied and will label it as “change of mind” which is not eligible for a refund. Using primarily AI and then refusing refunds under technicalities is a scam.
