Bogus dice

If you like games with dice that bear no resemblance to physical dice, then this one’s for you! The only thing the company is interested in is in-game purchases. In 95% of games I’ve played, my opponents rolled 3-5x the number of doubles i did, and during bear off, I’ve rolled 1s & 2s up to 12 times in a row while my opponents rolled doubles, 5s, and 6s.

Game is rigged, do not buy

This game is full of bots that will beat you no matter how well you play. Absolutely fraudulent.

When you play against the computer, the game cheats!

Would be a nice game except when you play against the computer, the computer too often gets doubles right after the human player makes a good move, and too often it rolls exactly what it needs to get out of trouble. This happens much too frequently for it to be chance! The human player never rolls doubles as frequently as the computer player! It used to give doubles to the human player almost as much, but more recent versions of the game don’t - not even close! Also, when the human needs to get pieces back on the board, the computer rolls exactly the one (high probability of doubles here) or two numbers that prevent the human player from moving! Again, happens too often for it to be chance. After you play enough games against the computer, the pattern is too obvious to ignore. So, it appears, the supposed “AI logic” in this game is severely lacking, and it makes up for its shortcomings by cheating the dice rolls to help the computer player at least stay close. Even with the cheating, a good human player can win most of the time, but it is frustrating to consistently see a potential gammon or backgammon evaporate when the rolls keep landing perfectly for the computer player and badly for the human. Not nice. Just got a developer response again claiming they use a fair randomized dice routine. I say the game doesn’t even call the randomized dice routine and purposely gives the poorly designed AI exactly what it needs to keep the computer player close when the human player is too smart for it. Sorry, but many hours playing this game debunks your weak protests of a fair game. Statistics don’t lie.

Apparently developers are not interested in realistic dice

I found a Backgammon app with fair dice rolls!!!

It's called "Backgammon for iphone and ipad." Graphics aren't the best, but the rolls are fair!

I have been playing this game for many years. I am fully aware that the dice are not random even though they try to sell that. I play knowing that as the options out there aren’t better. Try to enjoy the other players and play “friendly” games. If you fixate on your ELO you will be disappointed (unless you are from Russia). The English chat room is a mix of cool people and total jerks. This game does not police the extremely rude crass players. Those players make the chat room nonsense at times. Overall the style of play is good but the biggest problem is the dice algorithm. Good luck

Frustrating

This app is unfairly balanced and does not give random rolls of dice. I notice if I pay any $ I lose more frequently. Once they know you’ll pay any $ they stack the dice against you. Frustrating. Also they REALLY need to fix the situation where you should get a backgammon but because your opponent leaves the game they only give you a gammon. Unfair.
