Still needs a lot of work
A strong contender in the “read-it-later” niche but it still feels buggy and unstable. No way to organise feeds into folders or sections; inconsistent filtering modes across platforms, doesn’t feel like a native app on iOS, the Obsidian plugin does not sync notes, only highlights, no native Mac app, poor integration with podcast feeds, the themes are either too dark or too light (we could have a slightly lighter dark mode, like Omnivore), a hassle to follow Youtube channels, the text-to-speech functionality does not support other languages… Plus, Matter is quite expensive! Not ready to fully replace Pocket, Omnivore or Instapaper or Readwise Reader. But I do see a lot of potential in this app!

A strong contender in the “read-it-later” niche but it still feels buggy and unstable. No way to organise feeds into folders or sections; inconsistency across platforms, doesn’t feel like a native app on iOS, the Obsidian plugin does not sync items in the archive, no native Mac app (which serious readers appreciate), poor integration with some podcast feeds, the themes are either too dark or too light (we could have a slightly lighter dark mode, like Omnivore), a hassle to follow Youtube channels, the text-to-speech functionality does not support other languages… Plus, Matter is quite expensive! Offline/downlod text-to-speech articles?
I greatly rely on text-to-speech, but right now I’ve noticed that the functionality requires internet, which drains available data. Would it be possible to implement a “Download article as speech” functionality?
