Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies

Great programming, content. Just can’t understand how with the biggest hit shows on Max like Game of Thrones, there are 28 options for subtitles and no Chinese… it’s the world’s number one most common spoken language as a native language per capita! You’re missing a huge audience, even just within the United States of people who would understand programs much better if they could just read along. Get better please! I would give double the star ratings if you could get with this.

They won’t let you cancel subscription on phone you have to use a computer. It says you can change plan but no cancel option.

We had a mystery profile appear on our account, so I changed credentials and looked for additional ways to secure the account. I was looking for something like a sign-in confirmation sent to my phone or email, making signing in a two step process, but there is nothing. Kind of weird that max doesn’t follow what feels like an industry standard.

I tried to get in to max and all it did was load forever what the actual heck!!🤬

I have followed the directions, the help online, and even called for help. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Ever since I updated it, it logged me off and I can’t log in. I connect through Hulu/Disney+, my log in is correct. But it gives me an error ‘There is something wrong, please try again.’ So frustrated!!! I hat this app now. I have to go through Hulu now and it doesn’t have the link!! I’m cancelling you Max!!!

This is the only streaming app I have that doesn’t have high quality playback on either my Roku TV or my iPhone. The picture on every movie I try to play is compressed and looks terrible. The characters and text are always smushed so that they look longer and more narrow than they are. It used to be perfect, and then Warner Bros. bought it and ruined everything. Sometimes I can fix the compression by backing out and reloading the content, but that very rarely fixes it for long. It makes it hard to justify paying for the service when I can’t enjoy the playback due to their cheap issues. No other streamer is like this in terms of quality and playback errors. I can’t enjoy movies on Max. Bring back HBO, before all these cheap issues ruined a once-great service.

I love a lot of the content on Max, but I continue to be frustrated by their glitch-filled app. The volume resets randomly every time I play a new show or movie, and the pause and volume controls often do not display while I’m using the app. Over the past year, I have asked again and again for customer service to address these problems, but they persist.

The app is CONSTANTLY glitching. Rarely let’s watch things you’ve downloaded for offline, constantly shutting down or freezing. I reached out to support and they said it was my device. I’ve tried on now 5 different devices and several different networks and the problems still keep happening.

Unlike other streaming apps, I don’t get ads before shows, even when paying for ad free, and it just plays without interference. I don’t get a pop-up after an hour asking if I’m still there (looking at you NetFlix) and it doesn’t decide to slow down the count down till the next episode plays (or just not play the next episode at all)- (looking at you Disney). We weren’t sure how much we were going to use it when HBO Max started, so I think it was the last streaming platform we subscribed to. But its the streaming platform that we use the most! We use it daily. Max has become our favorite, and when stuff can be watched on Mac or something else- we choose Max every time. Marvel might win at the Box Office- but its DC/WB that’s winning in our homes.
