I commend melon for trying to be different but not at the cost of services the customer has come to rely on. The fact that melon doesn’t support ussd means you can say goodbye to cellphone banking and services like e wallet. Data prices are ridiculous at R60 per gig. Only way to top up is through the app. Goodluck in an emergency as you cannot use your banking app to top up since there is no concept of airtime with melon. Not well thought out and all the budget was put into marketing. Only support is via whatsapp so goodluck with a sim swap if you lose the sim.

Well done Melon! Not only does your App look great but it is also super simple to use!

Really happy with the App and overall experience!
Can’t even press continue to place my order
Tried placing an order and the continue button was not responsive and then got a mail saying that my order is complete. I’m a developer myself and can understand teething problems when going live but it’s difficult because I really want to give Melon Mobile a chance.
Slow app. Expensive services. No point.
Built on MTN so might as well just go straight to MTN. Or use Afrihost that has a usable app, and data at literally less than half the price.
So far so good but one problem:
The app is very slow and my internet is very fast, and my phone is fast too! But so far so good
