The best option!
I find Merriam Webster's Dictionary app the best option from free (English/English) dictionary apps. I also use in conjunction with a not-so-great (Eng/Arabic + Arabic/Eng) dictionary app to overcome the other app's lack of many functions. Tap on any word and you get its pronunciation (in an easy to understand way, not weird characters) + audio pronunciation, every meaning it has, related words, synonyms, antonyms, first use, and origins (especially helpful to retain words by understanding how they are composed). + Additional features that may or may not be interesting for everyone.

Best dictionary app
It stores the words you've checked up before so you can reference them later. I also like the fact that it has text-to-speech.
Good overall
Overall fine but ads are annoying and the way its written is odd. Trying out different ones. Is in the top 3 .
