A Great All Rounder
Metascan has allowed me to take home entire cathedrals, thatched cottages, standing stones. These have been very clean meshes and processed in minutes. The details of all of my scans with this app have made it my go to for photogrammetry and LiDAR and more recently I have tested the Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) processing with astonishment at the photorealistic results. I can’t say if it’s available outside beta atm. The developer is friendly and quick to help with technical details too. You can’t go wrong with any of this apps capture modes.
Easy but awesome
This app basically does what it is supposed to do. Working with 3D graphics can be painfully slow and complicated but this works fast and intuitively. At the very least it is a great introduction to the capablitites of the LiDAR Scanner
Good for starters
If your looking to start in learning photogrammetry this app help you to get the basics
Pro purchase fails
I have purchased the app, a very good product however it won’t recognise the pro purchase and states failed to retrieve…. The money has come out of the count
Started out brilliantly, then…
Keeps on crashing when I try to process scans both big and small. It’s a shame as I use this for work; get the bugs sorted then I might buy the subscription
Update to previous review
Now being a beta tester for this app it will become better especially identifying certain iOS related bugs. After being in contact with the founder and exchanging emails, the problem has been identified and should be included in a further update shortly. Cheers Tim for your help and support. With constant beta testing this app has a lot of potential and I am privileged to be a beta tester.
