Mextures Photo Editor

I know I would love this app if it would just stop freezing and crashing. It just does not cope with a huge photo library. Such a shame. Now using DistressedFX instead because it actually works.

Great looking app on the face of it, but for some strange reason, it only loads very old photos in my Camera Roll. I’m not sure if this is related to an iCloud syncing or backup issue, but I’ve since done a backup & the problem still hasn’t rectified itself. I’ve also emailed them with no response so far. I’m using an iPhone SE with the latest version of iOS. If any support staff can reply to this & tell me what I need to do to rectify this issue, I’ll gladly delete this review once done. Thanks. 👍🏼

I love this app - it’s my go-to app for most of my phone edits and I was perfectly happy with how it worked. Silly me - I decided to install the update, which promised to make it work even better, no more crashes, etc, and now I can’t even use my large collection of formulas without it crashing! (The rest of the app works fine but I love my formulas!). I’ve tried deleting and re-installing the app, but even that didn’t work. I have tried several times to contact the developer to see whether I am the only person having this problem, but have not had any replies whatsoever (which is a bit rude/unprofessional, when there are clear contact details on their site). I am keeping my fingers crossed that the problem I am having will be rectified with the next update. Pity - I would have had no hesitation in giving it 5 stars otherwise. Amazing app! ***UPDATED 01MAY2021*** The latest update fixed ALL my problems. Five stars all round! Thanks, guys!

My favourite app but has huge optimisation issues when you have a large image library. Unfortunately it’s unusable for that reason.

Keeps freezing and crashing, won’t let me crop once I actually get that far. So many decent photo editing apps around, if you don’t get it right first time most people will just move on the next one.

If you have a decent sized photo library, the performance of the app is so slow and prone to freezing that it cannot actually be used. Just opening the photo library to select a photo to edit on a new iPhone XR with the latest processor takes over 30 seconds, and 9/10 times the app freezes during the process so you have to quit and try again. It’s not simply that it’s slow — The freezing prevents you from even selecting a photo, let alone edit one. This could be solved if Mextures let you import a picture with the iOS share sheet, or used the standard camera roll selection interface. No other photo app has this problem. Until there’s an update addressing this, it’s not worth buying.

Quite literally, it’s the only photo editing app you need on your phone. I used so many other editing apps but keep coming back to Mexture because it just does it’s work so brilliantly. However, it just seems dated and less elegant not supporting iPhone X’s screen ratio. I hope the developer is working on it.

This app is a must-have for completely revamping your photos or graphic art, or just making those small finishing touches. Extremely versatile, with lots of control yet easy to use. Increasingly better with the ongoing updates. Highly recommend!

A must have app in the arsenal for any creative photographers and editors on the fly. I use this app to add the finishing touches in just about every edit I do. Would give it 6 stars if it would let me. Awesome but hey this is just my opinion. Get in there!
