Decent Tool, but major flaws on an iPad

Frank in San Diego on

United States

I have used OneNote for about 10 years. I initially started using it on Windows for work, but I use it on my Mac/iPad for home use. Wonderful and invaluable tool. One of my biggest beefs with it on the Mac, is that it doesn’t utilize “Speed Bar” on the Mac for “Word Prediction” and spelling. It uses the speed bar for formatting. I spend more time typing in my notes than I do formatting. On the iPad, it also does not support “Word Prediction”.

My only desire would be for a handwriting to text conversion ability

No Headers

M icloud on

Why in the world the iPhone version is so left out with iPad features. It's just a plain note taking app, with no way to add headers, a terrible toolbar and does even have tags. I can't believe that even Microsoft 365 has the same exact features for both iPad and iPhone app and OneNote doesn't even have 25% percent of all iPad features. It's so left out, I love OneNote and want to subscribe to OneDrive but man I can't do it because I rely so much on my iPhone to take notes but I can't because of it lacks basic features. Please make the iPhone version more on par with its iPad sibling.

iPadOS crashes all the time

Perocity on

United States

Can’t use OneNote on iPad with keyboard. Selecting text makes it crash all the time. It’s so bad, hardly usable. Seems to work on phone better but tablet is the worst quality experience.

One note is a worry free - user friendly note tool that I use everyday

King Chungs on

United States

Giving it 5 stars because of the “send to one-note” option on the classic ribbon in your email. This has been extremely useful. Also the program is on auto save so you can open it — copy paste — close it and it will always be there. Downside is the annotations tools. They used to be better but taking away the ruler, in my opinion, was a bad move. I can no longer highlight text in a near and orderly fashion. Instead I have to do a lot of “shapes” and filling. Just to get my point across. Very annoying. Overall one note is a simple and awesome tool that I recxomend to all working professionals

Very fluid

Maneuvering through documents and folders is easy and feels satisfying. However the lack of the ability to create subsections hampers the ease of use.

Nice!

Thanks for continuing to improve the app. Really like the updates on the nice features added! Great job!

Doesn’t Work

joehkc on

United States

I have been using One Note for years. For the last 6-12 months, it has quit working. I can no longer copy and send workout schedules or articles. The notebook copies the title, but shows a blank text with the words, no text. I’ve tried updating and deleting and reinstalling the app several times. Still doesn’t work. I would give it 5 stars if it can be fixed.
