Power BI er svært anvendelig og ganske enkelt business intelligence verktøy. Get data verktøyet gir mulighet for å hente data fra svært mange kilder. Det er ikke mange timer med læring som skal til før man kan spare seg timer med uthenting av rapporter fra propertiære systemer. Dataene kan presenteres på en rekke forskjellige måter og man kan også benytte R interface for mer avanserte fremstillinger.
