Play any synth or virtual instrument with your trusted guitar.

MIDI Guitar is the World’s first app to transcribe guitar playing into MIDI in real-time, with latency and accuracy comparable to expensive and inconvenient hardware MIDI guitar solutions.
MIDI Guitar is over 10 years in development(!) and based upon state-of-the-art polyphonic pitch detection and –prediction technology that can accurately recognize guitar playing and -articulation with very low latency and without spurious hits. The technology has been validated by thousands of guitarists over the years.
MIDI Guitar comes as AudioUnit plugin (AUv3) and as a standalone app which can host other iOS synth apps or send virtual midi to Garageband or other DAWs.
You need a guitar interface for best results. We recommend a digital interface (using the lightning connector) over analog (via headphone jack), preferably with input gain control. Using an acoustic guitar with the built in microphone works for some purposes but is not optimal.
The free version will interrupt every few minutes, asking you to buy an in-app purchase.

MIDI Guitar Reviews

Crashes in iOS 13.4

It crashes when I try to use my Scarlett soundcard. I’ve bought all in app purchases and still haven’t been able to use in a 208 IPad Pro 12.9 No funciona, crashea cuando intento abrirla con mi Scarlett 6i6 conectada.

Very good app.I'm using it with iRig 2 as an interface. The main reason l got this app was to transcribe and compose music with real time midi and step record into Notion music notation app.I'm able to transcribe what l'm playing with very few false triggers. However this will not substitute for sight reading skills.l got it so l could get down everything faster.Playing clean with muting and precise timing is needed. But for what l'm doing and the fact l'm accomplishing it on a smartphone is pretty amazing. This app should probably work with any standard notation or tab app that accepts midi.I can't speak as to how this app works with a DAW l've not tried it with that. The synth sounds are good my favorite is the Hammond organ.Great support and advise it is being Beta tested at the moment. For my needs it works.

5 stars if I could understand the IAP differences for MacOSvsiOS

Seems like I spent $20 on the virtual midi out component, but it doesn’t apply to the MacOS version, which I would be using just as much if it didn’t require another IAP … but maybe I’m just confused. I do know that the 3rd version of this app in Beta on MacOS looks and sounds awesome.
