Painting Warbler on

In this new Mindful Glimpses app, Loch and his team have assembled a treasure trove of tools for relieving suffering at its root. This app provides many different entry points for people of different learning styles and capacities to access profound, non-dual, ancient wisdom. While this ancient wisdom has always been here, the tools have not been widely available to most people in the West. I am so grateful to Loch Kelly for opening this door, and that I am here to practice living from a timeless, imperishable awareness that also feels like home. I’ve studied both of Loch’s books, attended many retreats on line and in person, and this new app includes an incredible compendium of sophisticated teachings, interviews, and simple practices and pointers for people who are completely new to meditation as well as for seasoned meditators. It is rich with short glimpses for any time of the day that can be saved as favorites. For longer contemplations, there are talks and interviews with instructions for deepening practice until I feel that click into vast and embracing awareness, again and again, which changes how I see. Over the years, I’ve shared these resources with many people, and this app will now be my first go-to for introducing others to this method. For years, I wasn’t able to do traditional meditation without feeling far worse than when I’d started, even though I had very good teachers and instructions. I didn’t know why this was happening to me and I felt tremendous shame about this. When, in 2015, I stumbled onto an internet course offered by Loch Kelly through Tricycle, I felt relief, amazement and hope. While I had no words at the time to explain why, this discovery would change my life. I began to practice with Loch’s methods every day. I now understand that in that first glimpse, I had a taste of freedom from conditioned suffering. This initial glimpse had the power to relieve the root of my suffering by allowing me to recognize, feel and see from a fully awake awareness that was already there, and none other than who I was. It was a pointer that opened a door that had, until then, been firmly closed to me. Since then, continuing these practices, they have given me and many others tools, for caring our minds, work and relationships that actually make things better. As a survivor of major complex trauma, I continue to heal within and without, at the same time. I am living into a deeper acquaintance with mystery and my own unique al

Amazing

This app provides a pathway to developing space from the thinking mind in a way I have never before experienced. It opens my heart to connection, empathy, and love.I am so grateful for these glimpses that I now practice on the elevator, on car rides, even in the midst of stressful meetings. Life changing.

Didn’t connect with the content, but good app

Blepcake on

The app is very well laid out and easy to use—a lot of care went into the design and development and the devs, as you can see by the comments, are quite responsive. Unfortunately, I couldn’t connect with the content. The presenter touts this supposedly new, meditation technique that he’s developed by studying with the “greatest meditation teachers” of our age, and yet the teachings are simply a smorgasbord of teachings from various traditions mixed together in bite-sized recordings. In the recordings themselves, he often tells you what he’s about teach, then walks you through an exercise, then tells you what the exercise did. There’s little room for your own thoughts, curiosity, and insight That said, it might work for someone else. If not, I’d suggest trying Insight Meditation. It’s a low-dogma tradition that emphasizes mindfulness in real life (ie, not just on a cushion in a meditation hall). Good luck!

US VETERAN

Jon0996712 on

Loch’s teachings save lives. I am a US Army Veteran with severe PTSD and I wish they would just offer this directly to all Veterans at the VA Hospitals and to all active duty military service members. Luckily, I happened to bump into this during other Dharma study. 22 Veterans take their own lives everyday. I believe we could change that with these simple, felt-sense pointers. We could change it together if we told every Veteran we met about these methods. I have personally shared this with other Veterans - every single one of them that will listen. I would shout it from the rooftops if I could or stand out in front of the VA hospital handing out pamphlets if they’d let me. Personally, I have used these teachings directly with severe PTSD and panic attacks - times where intense, effortful meditation was triggering serious panic attacks, preventing sleep and retraumatizing me in the midst of deep meditation! There’s a reason: check out Willoughby Briton’s work with Brown University on this and why the traumatized need to take directed, effortful meditative practices very slow, if at all. Deep, effortful meditation which breaks down the sense of a “you” straight away might unleash further trauma that has yet to be dealt with and safely integrated. So, deep meditation isn’t always safe or recommended initially for the traumatized… Enter Loch Kelly’s teachings / IFS: It is great that these teachings dovetail into the Internal Family Systems therapy modality. I have watched Loch’s YouTube videos with Richard Schwartz on IFS and it was critical to know this practice would be safe for me. Loch has worked directly with the severely traumatized as well as general meditators and this is applicable for everybody, from every walk of life and every background. I have both of his books in print AND audiobook format. These teachings are THAT good, THAT direct. His voice is so soothing and tranquil that I listen even as I am falling asleep to keep renewing my understanding. You can feel his kindness and his authenticity through his words and I truly feel I can fully trust his deep understanding of people. (He’s worked with thousands of meditators by now as well as many numbers of traumatized patients in a clinical setting as well as in therapy in private practice.) We have to start from a fundamental, basic feeling of wholeness and safety which this nondual teaching points us to. It works virtually instantly. I’m talking I could not leave the house and go i

Experience true insight in moments (not years)

Singularity555 on

I have been a daily meditator for 4 years now. It wasn’t until I came across Loch’s teachings much more recently in that journey, that I began to experience a profound shift in consciousness. Using this app and Loch’s methods, I have learned to summon a nondual reality, rigpa or awake awareness as Loch refers to it, pretty much on demand. I’m rather surprised but of course absolutely elated at these results. Loch is doing nothing short of democratizing awakening - making it accessible to all of us. Not everyone has the privilege to spend weeks or months on retreat. I thought I’d need to spend hours meditating in very formal circumstances to achieve these results. Not so! Just do a glimpse once or twice a day and you can get there. Whats more, spending even a minute or two in awake awareness opens up and expands an inner capacity for healing from very deep, very old wounds. This app / style of teachings has become an invaluable compliment (and I believe accelerator) for the trauma work I’m doing in therapy. It’s also a true refuge when things become too overwhelming, and one needs to resource by accessing at least a moment of safety amid the fray. I’m deeply grateful for this app, which has been a wonderful addition to deepening my practice. Thank you to Loch, his team, and the developers for putting so much work into something so meaningful and useful. 🙏🧡

Powerful ancient teachings, made modern and assessable

It’s easy to see the amount of time and effort Loch Kelly has put into the creating of this app The ancient wisdom teachings have been made completely understandable and accessible to even the beginner and the glimpse practices create immediate spaciousness, and a sense of deep well-being Lots of other great stuff on the app. Can’t wait to keep exploring!!! Bravo!

Mindfulness in my pocket

Loch’s methods and pointers are so approachable and have helped me a lot in life. I’m grateful for this app! I’m curious to see what it becomes, like how much content will be put out, because I just can’t get enough.

The Next Level of Meditation Technology

Bilbo413 on

This app is great. Love the “glimpses” approach to directly experiencing and stabilizing awakening. And the app is much more comprehensive than a book alone or podcast alone or even a great retreat that you eventually have to leave and try to find your own way. I think this might be the next great leap in meditation technology - learning from a teachers realization and then learning to be one’s own teacher with the help of comprehensive meditation tech like this. 🙏🏼

Life changing

END5446 on

I’ve been using Loch Kelly’s approach to meditation for about 6 months and I feel like it has uncovered something in me that I didn’t know I had access to before. Recognizing my heart-mind through the practice Loch lays out has changed the way I see and do everything. Everything is more calm now. I highly recommend this approach.
