Since the last update a couple of days ago the 30 minute timer has stopped ringing 3 bells for preparation time and then after a couple of minutes the app stops working. Very frustrating ! Have sent several messages via the contact form but no response. Have spent so long trying to rectify the problem haven’t had time to try the guided meditations but the timer is my daily go to. Would be great if someone could get back to me if not will have to look for another app which would be a shame. Team got back to me after leaving above review but then stopped communicating after a couple of attempts to sort the problem when nothing was successful. Shame as will have to look for a differnt app now.
Mark Williams your voice is chocolate for the soul - thank you
The app has weekly sections but they don’t contain all the mediations recommended by the book.
It wasn’t great before but since the update it’s become unusable because it crashes while playing the meditations. Can’t play through a single one. I am an iOS developer and have published on the app store. This app is a disgrace.
.....quite a bit and was attracted to to the likelihood of it working, but it was only when I heard Mark Williams that I was convinced. He has such a mature yet understanding way of putting it over.
I have been involved with groups for a few years that use FInding Peace in a Frantic World as a book study course to introduce mindfulness. I wd recommend having both the book and the app. The app supports all the info in the book and it’s so convenient to have the meditations on a device rather than playing the cd each time you want to do the practices (esp if you are away from your normal surroundings). However if you’re not a book person, the app does cover the essentials of the 8 week course with lots of precious nuggets of advice.
meditation interrupts constantly and stops
...and got it back new and improved! I was taught by Ruchiraketu at Cambridge Buddhist Centre (UK) Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in 2007 and 2017. He encouraged us to return to the centre should we need to. Brilliant! I will now be using this app daily to “weave my parachute” as we were taught on the course. If I got into a tight space and needed instant calm I’d then have the very best methods (in combination with yoga) at my disposal
I have had an anxiety condition for a long time and have tried several treatments including hypnosis and yoga and have found this App has helped my anxiety the most out of the treatments mentioned, it’s not a cure, I don’t think you can rely on this solely for anxiety but if you do the meditations once in the morning, 2x 3 minute breathing spaces and a slightly longer practice in the evening you should see some benefit.
