I really like this app, however when putting in an answer during exercises, the app expects you to be putting it in romaji and then generates the equivalent hiragana. I don't use romaji, I use hiragana, but it still generates the extra hiragana, so I end up having to delete the repeated hiragana everytime I write an answer. Please fix this, I really enjoy the app otherwise :(
I’d like to practice writing with the IOS kana keyboard instead of English so I am maximising my practice but any time I do, it spams the character and i can’t backspace until i swap back to the English keyboard
*update* The keyboard problem was with my phone not integrating well. I uninstalled and reinstalled, so now it works. I upped the rating by one star. Honestly I don't know how anything works at all these days, so many bugs in every phone update.*** The learning style is fine, but there's no way to skip ahead to what you need. I've done one year of Japanese and also travelled there many times. Also I type in the Hiragana it asks for on the phone's Japanese keyboard, and sometimes it says I'm wrong and tells me the correct way is exactly what I typed. They are both on the screen, and I can see that I made no mistake. It's really quite glitchy in that respect. If that is fixed, and there is a skip ahead function to get to the level you need, then I would be much happier.
Example; You accidentally forget a singular letter... that one letter being the difference between being marked completely wrong and completely correct, with no inbetween. As someone who's used a lot of language learning apps, or just Duolingo, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have a "partly correct" mark for how you answered a question, as, being completely wrong, will put you back a few steps, sometimes unfairly because there is no such thing as being partly correct on these apps.
I enjoy the app but sometimes the spelling or English seems off. In time should be on time. You should separate verbs from nouns. かちます is listed as win(technically it’s to win, the verb form) but win (noun) is かち.
