Moody Month: Cycle Tracker

I love this app so so much! It is so helpful in understanding my body throughout the months and really accurate as well! The forecast is also amazing I love that it breaks it down into the four phases rather then just bleed and ovulation. This app has so many wonderful features and I couldn't recommend it more

Although I have deleted this app from all devices, I still have it on my phone and receive daily messages from Moody. No one has responded from the company to give me advice on how to remove their app completely. Should I be concerned that this is a maleware? My hunch is, yes.

I love this as my main PMS and period symptoms are mood changes, anxiety etc. but I wish there was an app for Apple Watch for it.

Great idea! Been using for a few months. Couple thoughts tho, using high and low scales for all the symptoms and feelings doesn’t make a lot of sense. Like if I put my mood on the low end of the scale rathe than high, does that mean my mood is bad or that it’s not impacting me very much? The World category too: what does it mean to put your « work » scale on the low end versus high end? Better data collection structures would be good. Last and most importantly: this app should have more no binary presentation so it can be more queer friendly. It’s not just cis women that menstruate.

I’m 36 years old and this app has helped me understand my hormones and cycle better than ever! The Moody app is personable, easy to navigate, and easy to understand. I can tell actual humans are running this app. The only reason I put 4 Stars is that it doesn’t have the option to be a Widget! I downloaded another cycle tracking app just to be a widget. That way every day I can instantly see on my phone screen where I’m at with my cycle.

The app randomly started predicting a 25 day cycle which made no sense considering my average cycle length. When I make edits to the calendar, they’re initially reflected but when I reopen the app, they haven’t saved. I guess I need to switch to a better, more reliable tracker.

There is no free version of the app because the moment you try to track your moods after setting it up, unless you’re subscribed, it won’t let you. You HAVE to subscribe or else the app is useless. The main purpose of even downloading a “Mood” app is to track your moods and you can’t actually get that unless you’re subscribed.

The app is great. The only complaint I ever have is that it says ‘rise, shift and reflect’ instead of the proper terms for each phase of the cycle. They’ll send you an explanation you can go back to figure it out, but it would be 5/5 if the phases were displayed instead of using confusing euphemisms.

I the symptom tracker has been helpful and I’ve noticed a number of patterns I wasn’t expecting which helps me be more accepting and compassionate towards myself, BUT that being said, I really wish the phases were named by their legitimate, scientific name and not the cute names like “Rise” and “Shift.” It feels less empowering (and less convenient having to find the true scientific name for such phases from other sources). It’s been mentioned before and the developers have alluded to taking it into consideration for updates, but nothing has come of it Update: over a year later with multiple other users requesting the same thing and multiple developer responses, yet no changes to the phase names at all. I got a different app

They make you fill out all of your information without mentioning that a subscription is required until you are done. They should have mentioned it at the start so I didn’t waste my time. Uninstalled.
