Description

Conquer the world starting from your single home city. Each city can build units (either tanks, planes, paratroopers, bombers, transports, destroyers, battleships, submarines or aircraft carriers) in order to explore the world and defeat the other five AI controlled enemy players.
There's a lot of AI in the computer's moves and the maps are randomly generated, so each game is interesting and challenging.

The way games were

Before the present day games were mostly simple graphics but huge on imagination and content. This is a classic that you can spend hours, days and weeks on. Reminds me of my first love on the MAC SE in the 1980s, Reach For The Stars RFTS. If I had been paid by the hour I would be a rich man...thks to the developer/distributor for a great strategy game like the days of old.

Great on an iPad

I used to play this game on the PC many years ago. So many hours spent. Now as an app, I have played through the very hard level on every map on every type. This has been my go to time filler for years. Is ideal if played on an iPad, and with a stylus. Best money for value I’ve ever spent on a single game. Would like the option of having tanks heal, for tanks to be able to really hurt battleships, and bombers to refuel on aircraft carriers.

Mother of all battles

Great game but I can not win even on easy mode. I used to do it easily on the PC version of Empires. But not on this version. Maybe a strategy guide is in order. I would give it 5 Stars if I could set the number of opponents and trust that the AI is not cheating.

Keep to the old version if you still have it. Otherwise a great port of Strategic Conquest on the Mac.

Great Empire style game

If you know the classic Empire, or even if you don't, this is a great strategic turn based game. Simple game play with infinite possibilities. The only thing I would like to see changed is a path setter. Eg I want to move my destroyer half way across the world. I should be able to set an end path and it follows that path each turn till it gets there (wakes up when it sees enemies etc). Would make game play management much easier. Referencing instructions while in game, and multiple saved games would be great as well.

Great idea and stuff but...

Look, let me get this straight, the whole concept of this game is amazing. I love the fact that there's a whole range of units to build, that you have to escort your transports with destroyers and battleships, that aircraft need fuel and all of that. However, the controls are so painstakingly hard to use. I mean I don't know what's already moved, the movement isn't smooth, the fuel left isn't shown, the enemies just appear, like I don't see them coming into view like many other similar games give. Perhaps a few things to fix?

I love this game totally. You can travel to other islands. I was Wrong in my last review. Sorry Sean!! I must've been doing it All wrong. The graphics are still great. The sound is better too. Thanks Shane.

Needed for MacOS

I'm hoping the developer recompiles this app for the MacOS and adds support for widescreen.
