It looked like this was going to be a perfect app for controlling my diet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem very intuitive and I can’t find any help files or tutorials in the app or on the website. The website doesn’t seem to be anything more than a marketing page. I sent an inquiry through the contact page but never got a response. I’m not willing to spend hours trying to figure out the app by trial and error. I feel that an app should have some level of instructions, especially if you expect to charge for it.
The first time I used the app was less than successful. First, I tried to use the bar code scanner offered. The icon too me to an additional app which has a monthly subscription fee. No other app that offers scanning requires this, so I did not install it. Second I tried to enter my first meal: Overnight Oats. The ingredients: —1/2 c plain non-fat yogurt-this came up with a 3/4 cup serving size. When I changed it to 1/2, it retained the serving size and did not allow me to change the unit of measurement from serving to cups. Okay, 1/2 is 2/3 of 3/4, so that is doable —1/4 c uncooked oatmeal-I searched oatmeal, all were cooked or flavored. So I searched raw oatmeal and uncooked oatmeal, same problem. Frustrated, I tried oatmeal again, the second item was what I wanted. Again, 1/2 cup serving size, so I had to enter 1/2 serving to get what I wanted. —1/4 cup 2% milk-this item worked more as it should. Although the serving size of one cup was the primary unit, I could enter 1/4 and select cups as the measurement. I could also have selected grams, ounces, ml, but tablespoons or teaspoons were not there. What if I were adding milk to my coffee? —1/2 cup sliced strawberries-this one worked, as the serving size was 1/2 cup. No fancy adjustment required The app needs to improve its way of handling quantities. Yes, servings are a very common way of eating, but people always have their own way of doing things. Yes, the app does do what I was seeking, track daily sodium intake. For that reason, I gave it 2 stars and I am not deleting it less than an hour after downloading it.
The links to the recipes lead to websites that don’t exist or have porn attached to them. I was very disappointed to click on true recipe websites. Integrity here app maker?!?
I wanted to like this app, but the bar code scan gives incorrect sodium content. Since that’s the main thing I need it for, it’s not much use to me.
When I try to add a food item to Breakfast this morning, the app bombs. Totally closes down. Tried rebooting phone to no avail.
This is glitchy
Those ads they have keep going and going for ever and when an “x” does come up to cancel the dang thing, you can’t activate it!!! So Frustrating!! I guess I’ll just stick to my My Fitness Pal app. Not as good, but it doesn’t make me want to hurl the phone across the room!
I like the app and purchased the premium subscription. My problem is that you don’t allow people to set the Doctor’s ordered sodium target. All you give is either 1500 or 2300 grams per/day. My Doctor has me on a 2000 grams per/day sodium allowance. We should be able to set whatever level of sodium that we need. Otherwise I really like this app so far and look forward to many days of use.
As others have stated, the app is poorly designed and clunky. Barcode scanner is weak at best, and usually returns inaccurate information. Absolutely no way to add “”favorite foods”. Super frustrating experience. Moving onto different app.
