You'll start by visual food journaling and assessing your meals with the Balanced Plate Method. In other words, keep a food diary and learn about your meals and their balance.

Becoming mindful of your current meals and eating habits is your first step toward permanent balance. Then we're ready for our next steps together:

Week 1 - Portion
Learn how to improve your plate's balance by collecting hearts for your meals in the app. That is the core of the Balanced Plate Method.

Week 2 - Hunger
Intuitive eating and hunger go hand in hand. Learn what the feeling of fullness and hunger teaches you!

Week 3 - Portion Size
This week, you'll learn to find the right portion size.

Week 4 - The Mind
It's all about the mind. Learn to understand the role of your mind in creating new habits!

After finishing the 4-week kick-start, you'll have all the tools in your use. You continue practicing the balanced plate method and using the skills you learned. The My Plate Coach app will continue supporting you at each meal.

Thank you to the kind ladies who developed this app. It is the best one I have ever downloaded and encourages and guides towards sensible, organised, life-changing balance.

This app really deserves five stars!!! Well thought out and a great concept for developing balance in eating. I’d love to see a ‘sync’ function in this as I tend to use my phone and other Apple devices as a whole and it’s a pity that this is only on my phone - HOWEVER...don’t be deterred by that!!! If you’re committed to learning about your eating and want some nutrition guidance, this this is a worthwhile app😀👍🏻

I’ve tried different apps over the years but this app really makes you think about the combination of food on your plate. I quickly realised that I was missing some very important food from my diet which would keep me full and in turn make the right choices at mealtimes. The support from the team is also excellent if you have any questions or queries.

Don’t bother purchasing! I wish I hadn’t!

If you've got SHYE, this version is useless and not really accurate. You have to use this one OR SHYE but not both since they are not integrated, you'll have to fill your diary twice. Difficult to estimate the portion of different food family, can't include fat, nuts ect. App released in 2013 and only one review, should have guessed it was not a great value...

I think this app is perfect for people who really want to improve their eating habits and their health. We can all easily forget about the odd cookie, eating a few leftover chips from your kid's plate or a bottle of wine at the weekend, but if you truly want to start making changes, this is a great way to do it. It has things like seeing all your daily meals at glance and the meal reminders, but it also has lots of really easy to use assessments to track your progress. My absolute favourite bit in the coach app is the portion assessment and getting hearts for my meals. The number and colour of the hearts tell me how balanced my meals are. For a one-off payment of £7.99, this app is the best tiny investment I've made in my health for a long time
