myChevrolet FAQ
Is myChevrolet free?
Yes, myChevrolet is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is myChevrolet legit?
⚠️ The myChevrolet app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I purchased my truck in August 2024 and it comes with 3 years of use of connect features however I have not been able to use it at all. I have made several calls to OnStar and even spoke to representatives with GM and no one has been able to fix the issue. It keeps getting escalated to another team that are supposed to call me back and I never get that call back.
I even took my truck back to dealer and a person from service department couldn’t fix. I’m so confused why I cannot use something that I’m supposed to have access to and it is a brand new 2024 Chevrolet Truck.
Useless with paid Onstar
Unless you’re willing to pay for an OnStar account, this app is pretty much useless. I’m tired of subscriptions…..no more.
Worst app support I have ever experienced!
After one month of ownership, this app had many features removed that are no longer available and of course, GM or Chevrolet never answers the phone or support.
Nice when it works
The concept is nice but starting it works only a fraction of the time locking and unlocking the car(again if it works) takes such a long time! I got free couple years of being able to start my car from my phone but again only works half the time. I’ve checked for updates on my phone as well as the app with no luck trying to figure out the issue.
Basic functionality ok; slow; lax privacy with user data
Ok for very basic functionality. Some commands take 10s of seconds to act. Info limited to tire pressure and charge.
Maps getting better, but is slow. View resets every few seconds, have to re-find my position. Vehicle position slow to update.
Zero widgets.
Privacy is horrendous. Precise Location, imei, usage, identifiers are tied to your identity and can be shared for any purpose across applications and the internet to sell or rent. No, apps aren’t listening to you, they are just tracking across every app and website and renting to anybody to correlate and uniquely target you.
Useless without OnStar
Without an OnStar subscription the app is just a bunch of advertisements. There is no functionality. Everything simply links to picking on OnStar plan.
Missing key component (1 year later and always an issue)
Now a one star review. Guys/gals… why are you the only remote start app control application that STILL DOES NOT indicate to me whether my doors are locked or unlocked via the home user interface. I shouldn’t have to guess the current lock or unlocked via status of my vehicle without having to send a command to insure it’s locked…. Come on.
4 star because when opening the app, it doesn’t show the current state of the vehicle being locked or unlocked. It shows two buttons to lock or unlock but doesn’t show the current status. Simply allow one of the icons to highlight or display the status or just display “locked” or “unlocked” on the Home Screen. Just a minor missing component that is available on many other auto apps.
ZƎRO STARS
Useless app; 1 Star is too much good; Bought a 2025 Trax, December 13, 2024, on the 25th of December check engine light turns on.
My 2025 Trax check engine light turned on and this app reads “EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD” What does this mean? I took the car to the dealership; Curtesy Chevrolet has me waiting on fuel rail and all new injectors and special parts with no eta. 🤢🤢🤢
🤢🤢🤢
good but not great
I like that I can start unlock lock and see my cars status from the app but it would be better with iphone widgets so i could see the status from my home screen and have buttons to lock unlock etc from the home screen
Wish it was better
I am fairly new in using this app for my Equinox EV. The app is slow and not reliable. The feature to unlock driver profile with the trusted devise almost mover works. The location feature load slow or do t load at all. I think Chevy can do better. I am suing the app for Volvo and Tesla, the reliability needs to be worked on. I love my Equinox EV.
