This app is for use in research studies examining how diet, exercise and sleep affect health and healing. Our body contains circadian (circa – approximately and dian – day) or 24 h clocks that determines the time to sleep, feel hungry or get ready for physical activity. Research studies run in different locations are trying to understand the interaction between “how much” and “when” we sleep, eat or exercise for better health. You need an activation code from these research studies to download and use the app.
Following are the key features:
- Camera function to snap picture of everything you eat or drink
- Sleep tab to record time to bed and time of waking up
- Exercise tab to log physical activity
- Personalized food menu
- Health tab to log and monitor health parameters
- Medication reminders
- Feedback with the research coordinator
- Integrated healthkit framework to track your health information.

myCircadianClock FAQ
Is myCircadianClock free?
Yes, myCircadianClock is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is myCircadianClock legit?
🤔 The myCircadianClock app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
The app acts like it’s operating, but it’s not. All the food entries ended up as pending items even though the message was received that synch was successful. The days counted up to 15 but the Clock and Reports didn’t generate. Instead a message was received that the information wouldn’t be available until the baseline history was entered. The baseline is supposed to be 14 days so that’s a bug. I don’t know how other people have gotten any value from this app. I read the book and thought as much effort went into the software as the book itself. There’s no value to this app at all because you can’t even review your entries for the baseline period. It’s a complete waste of time. You’re better off with a pen and paper.
Unresponsive
Signed up, never got a confirmation email to verify. Doesn’t seem to be managed.
Can’t register
Not able to receive an activation code and register for an account for some reason. On iOS 17.4.1
Can’t Successfully Create an Account
After hearing Pam Taub speak about the program last week at Rancho La Puerta, I couldn’t wait to download this app and begin. Unfortunately, after answering all of the required questions to set up an account and entering my email address, nothing happened when I clicked submit. I also checked my email (junk folder too) to confirm that no code was received as well. My husband is encountering the same issue on his phone. Is this app still functioning? Please help!
Loved the Book HATE THE APP
It is impossible to easily navigate backwards if you live a busy life and cannot log everything real time.
Insufficient Functionality
Overall this app looks good and works smoothly. I like how easy it is to log your meals. I was curious to track my eating and sleeping habits and eager to contribute to the research. However, the app does not read my sleep data or fitness activities from Apple Health. I am unable to manually enter sleep data getting an error message that tells me to select my perceived sleep quality. But there is no option to do so. I am not going to use the app without an easy way to record sleep data (I am not willing to start my sleep tracking manually each night since my watch already tracks my sleep). Hopefully future updates will fix this issue.
Worse and worse
The interface seems to get cuter and less usable over time, and it doesn’t help to have grammar errors in the survey questions. One imagines the Salk Institute folks as highly intelligent, and I’ve been quite impressed by Dr. Panda’s research as he describes it in podcast interviews. It’s a mystery why his team lets obvious problems with this app degrade public perception of Salk’s general competence. Sufficient specifics have been cited by other reviewers so that Salk should realize their app developers need help— and not to further polish the app’s appearance, but to fix its functionality. When a person activates the app to input a moment’s data, their experience should be brief, reliable and smooth.
Couldn’t even set up account
I downloaded the app, which requires you to set up an email. I never got the email with the “confirmation code” in it to authenticate the account. The app won’t allow you to resend the code. I checked my inbox and junk mail boxes. Nothing. The app is useless now, because I don’t give out my good email account for things like this.
Great resource!
This is a very simple and effective app with a fun look. I love the blog section, which helps me learn more about my health and motivates me to stay on track for my goals. Tracking food and sleep is easier with the app’s reminders and it is more in depth than other apps I’ve used.
Good app with great function
I use the app to track my calories and it helps a lot in my journey to lose weight!
