Thanks for the vote
How much does MyRoute cost?
MyRoute has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is £34.99.
Downloaded the app in preparation for testing it out on a future ride but when I opened the app only a few days later it displayed the message “trial has ended” and asked me for £40 to start using the app.
Complete waste of time when it doesn’t even give you the opportunity to use the trial, as advertised, before asking for more money!!
OK but carplay stops radio working
This app has great potential but is spoilt by a few issues:-
Carplay works except it takes over the cars audio so that the radio, media player etc cant be heard after the first navigation instruction. Its not a problem with the car as Google Maps instructions work and then let you listen yo the radio etc
The other major issue is that you cant examine the waypoints while navigating and stopping navigation then trys to take you back to the start. A bugfix and improvements are urgently needed before people like me didtch this app in frustration
Advertised as an alternative to costly sat navs, but it’s not.
I wonder how MRA are getting away with their widely advertised claim of “No more buying expensive devices that only last a few years” because this app falls a long, long way short of being an alternative to dedicated sat navs, or even a ‘back-up’ for them.
It doesn’t even announce via points! Not only is the app poorly developed in terms of functionality and user interface, but it is horrendously prone to a wide variety of bugs that reveal themselves randomly and with monotonous regularity. Support for raised issues is lax for the most part, with tickets either remaining unresolved but closed nonetheless, or simply ignored. Even when one such relates to voice guidance being delivered far too late to be useful and potentially highly dangerous.
I subscribed to the MRA Route Planner and Navigation app ‘ecosystem’ on the basis of marketing claims that remain very significantly unfulfilled. I have hardly ever been able to successfully navigate a route using the Navigation app and, while I persevered for months in monitoring its performance by running it alongside a dedicated sat nav to see if it improved, it has proven so unreliable in so many ways that I have now given up and consigned Navigation to the bin. I most definitely will not be renewing the subscription, and will revert solely to Garmin BaseCamp and trusty Zūmo sat nav.
Was good now dreadfully
Since update it been nothing but a nightmare won't route correctly keep changing it mind and sending u in circles
Better than a satnav
I use this app to follow custom routes created using MyRouteapp. It makes for enjoyable trips, often driving alone, along interesting back roads avoiding busy main roads. It works really well in many countries. It’s best to simulate a ‘test drive’ before setting off to make sure it follows the route correctly. Sometimes a few extra waypoints are needed. I routinely use this for every new trip.
Who Needs SatNav!
This has developed since its first slightly underwhelming incarnation into the best navigation out out there in my opinion. Loading routes from the partner MyRouteApp route planning app is a doddle. I think it’s based on the “Here” maps (Garmin) and will certainly get you where you need to go. If loading a route carefully check the route as unless your accurate with your waypoint placement it will take you a different way sometimes but WILL still get you there. Looking forwards to the upcoming Apple CarPlay integration.
I love it
This is the best nav app yes. I sold my rubbish Motorrad Garmin and replaced it with this app.
Constantly improving
The current version of MyRoute-app Navigation is very stable and reliable. The team of developers are constantly adding great new features to this and the MRA route planner. The latest version of the route planner 1.1 adds features to this Navigation app too. Start date and times for routes. The ability to add a pause break to waypoints is helpful to planning as are the new via or shaping waypoints. Coloured waypoints with notes added can be read from the screen in MRA Nav which saves me writing them on paper to add to the tank bag.
Auto skip is now working for iOS phones meaning if you miss a waypoint, the Nav app will ask you if you wish to skip it rather than turn you back.
MRA Navigation is a serious option for satellite navigation and a lot cheaper than the two big names of Garmin and TomTom.
Unimpressed with function & support
I Purchased the upgrade through the App Store after the free 14 day trial ended. Failed to function, not letting me save routes or edit them.
Used the contact page for support, but received nothing back. I requested a refund through Apple & received a refund.
Thinking it was the app purchase that caused problems, I then purchased gold membership through the website thinking this would alter things, but no. It still doesn’t save routes or allow editing, despite my account saying ‘gold member.’ I give up, total waste of my time.
Basic but clean
I like this app, a bit, it’s clean and integrates with my MyRouteApp system so I can download my stuff, but....
It’s very expensive for what it is and the biggest annoyance for me is it’s daft name ‘Navigation’!!
As a motorcycle rider I need to be able to use voice/siri, I say “hey Siri, use Waze to navigate me to Bedford” and it opens Waze, or Apple Maps if I ask for that, and starts to take me to my requested destination, however when I say “hey Siri, using Navigation navigate me to Bedford” it just opens Apple Maps as the app name is confusing the system due to the daft name, please give it a better name, MyRouteNav maybe.
