The app frequently fails to connect, and this only resolves if you completely close it and restart. The speed limit display freezes or doesn’t display at all. The fuel information is inaccurate mine currently shows 21% and 264 miles range. For such a large company you’d like to think proper attention to detail would ensure it was faultless.
The app is unreliable, doesn’t always connect, doesn’t always record and worse when you think it’s working it doesn’t track the route.
Just got back from a trip to South Wales and this is the first time I’ve used the app as my main navigation as I usually use Apple Maps. The first route I used it for was great but then the issues started. It gets stuck on the GS screen with a turn instruction and it starts to play mismatched instructions through the headset so gets very confusing. Then I thought I’d try the twisty route option and it was awful, laggy and kept re-routing. Then it started to just crash and disappear altogether from the screen. This is actually pretty dangerous when riding a bike as it’s a distraction you don’t need, especially when you’re trying to work out where you’re going. In the end I gave up and went back to using Apple Maps, which is pretty faultless and doesn’t ever crash. I wish BMW and other bike manufacturers would stop trying to recreate something we don’t need when all they have to do is integrate Apple Car Play into the TFT.
I’ve found the latest version just doesn’t work correctly anymore. It’s supposed to map my rides but just constantly disconnects. I’ve got a BMW M1000R and it never works with it. Less than useless!
The app was working very well up until the last updates. Now the current bike fuel level either shows 32% or three dots as if it’s not getting a proper reading. It also seems to crash during tours if the engine of the bike is switched off, during a coffee break for example, and doesn’t record the remainder of journey properly.
Love the app , I just can’t get the national speed limit up . I have the white box but no numbers , just updated the app hopefully that has fixed it
I love the app but it has a big issue with it. When connecting up to the bike or connected ride navigator I always struggle to get all of it working correctly. If I have voice controls for sat nav I don’t get usability for my phone ie phone calls or music. Try to play through the navigator you can see the music but won’t play anything. Such a shame it can’t all sink together properly
I have just purchased an R1250GSA plus new Connected Sat Nav and helmet Comms, but can I get them all to pair with one another and with the bike? Nope. And most frustrating of all, the dealer (approved BMW), doesn’t seem to know how to do it either. Not impressed.
I like this app WHEN ITS WORKING. Latest issue is an unreliable fuel reading. It’s not that important, it’s not a deal breaker, but if you are going to offer it, make sure it works accurately! The info is there in the bike so it is only a transfer of information, so how does a fuel gauge showing 100% on a fully fuelled bike become 85% when transferred to the app? Frustrating (as I fear that as they fix this another issue will pop up, the last one being the mph/kph issue)
Had it working fine 3 weeks ago, connected to a bike straight away. Have tried to get it connected today to a new bike - nothing. Have deleted and reinstalled, deleted and readded all connections on bike, reset phone, not a sausage. Ultimately pointless at this stage, as I can’t even connect the navigation part of it!
