Simple control of your thermostat
The app is simple and easy to understand. I like the different and easier approach compared to other smart thermostats. I run it on a very old central gas heating - only problem is that the thermostat is only turning on and off the heater and can’t control zones (via dampers in the ducts) - Australian ducted heating is a bit different to Europe. Also a dedicated on/off (away) switch would be great. But I am pretty happy with the performance and it is great that I was able to upgrade our really old heating system with a smart thermostat. The App got better and better over time and I prefer it to other systems.
PID algorithm stopped working, Netatmo incapable of fixing it.
It has been working flawlessly for almost 3 years, nice and smooth schedule. Two moths back without any reason the heating algorithm stopped working and switch on hysteresis. Which makes now difference in between Netatmo and a $10 ordinary thermostat. Support was fast to respond but they said “the engineers are busy now and it might take a while to respond” it has been a month and the engineers are “busy”.
Bad support, my Netatmo is now on eBay and waiting for a Tado to arrive.
