I’ve had this wireless connected stat for almost 10 years and have seen good savings on my gas bills, it’s good to be able to control it from my mobile which I do regularly from all over the world, I’ve been sunning myself on the beach in Bridgetown, Barbados whilst setting my heating to have my home nice and cosy when I return.
The Netatmo system of smart heating works very well in our 4 bedroomed bungalow. The ability to programme every space and the ease of adjustments is excellent Open window detection works well Times away is easy to set and monitoring away from home work’s precisely Recovery of installation costs through reduced consumption of energy will take about 16 months It’s long term reliability is yet to be assessed as it is not 2 years old I will probably link it to a wearher station system now
Having purchased numerous smart home gadgets, I am always apprehensive when I chose a new brand due to trouble connecting to my home network and more importantly staying connected. Netatmo’s connection to my home network and setup was easy and reliable.
Used this for several years and bought a new one for my new house.
This used to be great, but some update or something has happened, all my pre programmed settings have been changed, I had temps set for diferent situations, comfort, comfort +, eco and some of my own like evening or morning, etc, they have all be defaulted to 19degs, all my programmed schedules are now just 19degs, It took that long to tweek the schedules to get the heating temps correct for different times of the day and circumstances and it was that long ago that I have no idea now what it was set at, so after owning for about 5 years I am now back to square one. I went to try and change some, and it now looks like you have to change every setting in every schedule you have, so if you set comfort to a temp, it doesn’t follow through the rest of your schedules! What a joke! Netatmo used to be good, they have slowly gone down hill the last couple of years! Will be looking to change and move away due to issues like this!
Easy to use system to control costs in the house
The device is great and it was one of the first of its kind on the market. The app and network link is clunky and can sometimes leave you out on a limb.
Heating prediction default (until it learns your house) is 30 minutes. This should allow an override if you know this is insufficient. (If your house takes over an hour to reach set temperatures one should be able to change default preheating time to 60 or 90 minutes until the app learns your house to start predicting
Not sure what they have done but after years of no problems changing the schedule is now impossible ! Changes to days & temps aren’t stored ?! You enter changes to days, times & temps, click confirm & they just revert to random days or times. Will not be using Netatmo again as have similar problems with my Netatmo security cam.
Whatever update netatmo have just completed is a complete nightmare. I can’t control any of my heating.
