Neutron Music Player Reviews

iPadOS breaks bit perfect mode.

The Real UserNameTaken on

Netherlands

Bit perfect mode doesn’t activate after updating m1 iPad Pro to iPadOS18. Reinstalling the app didn’t fix it.

Crashes on MacOS now

Since last update the app doesn’t start anymore on MacOS. Tried re-install but no luck. LOVE the player for years, so hope it can be fixed soon.

Incomprehensible chaos

PaulFransen on

Netherlands

I have a DLNA server but Neutron Player can not find it. The user interface is not intuitive at all, it is an incomprehensible chaos of options you never use.

Unusable

Robin_Z on

Netherlands

I give it two stars because of the features and the fact that I managed to play some DSD files, eventually(!). But I’m not touching this app again as the interface is unusable for most of the time.

MQA? On neutron?

Terrible interface

Brighter screen light on

Netherlands

It may have some good features. But it's the worst user interface I've ever seen. And I'm not exaggerating! Connecting via WebDAV is a nightmare. Changing sources is terrible too... It looked good because it apparently has all the features I need, but now I'm very under impressed. To say the least. Steer clear from this app

The horrible userinterface makes this app unusable

Ink cardridge on

Netherlands

The listed functionality seems really promising but once I've bought this app I was in for a disappointment. I tried this app for a couple of minutes and it's a real pain. It doesn't support my DAC and doesn't support SMB streaming. Even if everything would work fine, the interface is so unbearingly sluggish you would probably regret it.

Niet kopen!

RootmanMat on

Netherlands

Display ziet er grof en onoverzichtelijk uit, op nas kan je geen submappen kiezen voor bibliotheek etc. Heb uiteindelijk gekozen voor Musicstreamer, betere (allen al qua layout) en ook nog voordeliger keus

Finally a great music app with DSD and DLNA support

I you have a DAC that supports HD audio formats such as DSD/DoP (DSD over PCM), DXD and/or PCM 24/192 than this version of the Neutron music player app is a must have. Last summer I asked the developer to look into DSD support and now he did a great job adding it. Now I can stream all the DSD files directly from my minim DLNA server. Also I really like the audio quality which this app produces which is absolutely better than the default music app. Just try a good pair of headphones with a decent DAC and hear yourself.

Casting audio

GPoffRoad on

Netherlands

Neutron is the best player ever. I use it already for a long time in listening my FLAC music files. But ... I've bought a Chromecast Audio device. This to stream my music, via WiFi, to my speakers. Will this be supported by Neutron?
