Down hill from here
I’ve been reading The Day for over 60 years. It’s no longer the respected paper it once was in my opinion. I am in agreement with its editorial positions so that isn’t an issue for me. I believe that poor decisions by previous management have damaged the paper beyond repair . Selling the presses has resulted in a stale paper that is not timely. The sports section is useless because when you open it the stories are usually from the day before or marked “late”. I want to know what happened last night. You have no spontaneity. Local sports personalities and high school athletes Boring and unread . Norwich coverage mostly unread. You can call your paper whatever you want but it’s still The New London Day. The paper is very poorly edited with numerous mistakes and poorly written headlines. There are very few locally written stories mostly reprints from The NY Times ,Washington Post, and The Ct Mirror. Hey have you heard of the Internet? We’ve already read these stories! While I’m at it how many pictures of people at Harkness or Bluff Point can you print? Selling the Day building is the beginning of the end I’m afraid. Previous management missed the boat by not going into television when it could this would have given you the revenue to keep going. I’ll keep buying and supporting the paper until it ceases publication which I’m afraid is coming.
