Newsify

[--REDACTED--] on

United States

I’ve been using this product for about a decade now. When I found Newsify, it was only $3. I didn’t mind when the developer switched to a subscription model because I know hosting and coding take time and money. The annual subscription price is fair for what they do. I haven’t even looked for another RSS reader since Newsify does everything I need it to do (just feed my RSS with some good config options). In addition to a great product, the developer always responds to support emails quickly and is very polite. I’ll be using Newsify for the long haul; keep up the great work!

Stopped Syncing After iOS 18 upgrade

After upgrading to iOS 18 on two phones and two iPads, many of the feeds have gradually stopped working. We’ve reloaded the rss addresses but that doesn’t change anything.

Not even 7 days into free trial

tg8035 on

and the app and web unread counts are out of sync by more than 100 article count Have tried to fully resync multiple times, restart, login and out and nothing For that matter, why is this developer not allowing iCloud sync option but instead only using their own web server sync which is clearly not working, not being fixed, improved or maintained. Not too mention only allows unreads for 30 days. So no, I will not continue with this rss app reader service once trial ends. Such a shame, this rss reader app service probably has the best newspaper view mode of all rss reader apps. It appears that that’s all this app service has going for it 😒

The RSS app I’ve been looking for

betweenthesedays on

United States

Ever since Google Reader went away, I’ve been using a “good-ish” alternative. That got a bit buggy and laggy and irritating so I decided that after all of these years someone has to have created something for people like me. Turns out it’s this one! The sign of a good design is if the tool fades into the background and just works. Less focus on the tool, more focus on the news. LOVE IT!!

Needs OPML import and export

laughingpenguins on

United States

Data portability is important. RSS is a feature of the open web, and moving between services should be made easier. I'm actually trying to move to Newsify, but the lack of OPML support is making it more difficult. Update: Requiring an account (which lessens privacy) to import OPML is not good enough. You need to add support within the native apps and not require an account before I will increase the rating.

Very nice
