Noteful: Note-Taking on PDF

This app is everything I needed for note taking. You can organize your Space (Folders, subfolders and files) Work on many docs at the same time and have many tabs open at the same time The customization of your tools (color and size for pencils, pens and highlighter) A lot of templates to work with and I can also Import school file to work on them The pro version didn’t cost a liver. (Around 7$ CAD) The only negative thing I can say is that there is no widget avalaible where I can quick access the docs and files. That would be game changer!

I like how clean the UI looks. The free version of the app is already quite powerful - it’s the only free app I know that comes with fully functioning layer feature. Love the option to pay once for lifetime access - I would never pay for subscription to notetaking service. Quite surprised to realize that the app does not have a pencil option, which is such a basic feature, considering how it has so many advanced option. Right now this is not a dealbreaker for me, but it’s definitely enough to be weighing on my decision to make this my sole notetaking app.

All in all, this is a very solid note-taking app that has all the features you would need. I’ve tried several other note-taking apps, such as Goodnotes and Notability, but I’ve settled on Notability for now. The app does have a few features that I feel set it apart from other apps, namely the layers system for pdfs. This is a killer feature that I haven’t seen any other app handle quite as well. I also like the tags system for organization, and how you can pin notes to the sidebar. That being said, the app does have a few areas it’s lacking in. There is no handwriting recognition, which isn’t an issue for me, but may be for some people. Also, when writing there is a noticeable lag compared to other apps. It’s not terrible and the app functions fine, but if you test the response time by scribbling quickly in Noteful and then do the same in literally any other note-taking app, you will see the difference. Lastly, the app absolutely chews through your battery life for no discernible reason. Overall, it’s a good app that has all of the core functionality you would need, but it could use some under the hood refinement

I hesitated a long time between Notability and Goodnotes. The answer was clear after I found Noteful. They could not compare to Noteful in terms of quality and price. Get it now, you won’t regret it.

I really enjoy using this app to take notes, it is great but I really really wish that you could get unlimited notes without paying the pro version.

The developers of this app are amazing ! Please keep making this app better. This app is very close to perfect. Coloured folders would be a plus.
