NZ Herald News Reviews

NZ Herald Review

BM Ltd on

New Zealand

I have had the NZ Herald app for eight plus years and have recently cancelled it due to constantly not being able to access the premium content which I am invoiced for every month. I am also disillusioned by the left wing bias to articles published not withstanding the premium content which at least offer those who pay $24.00 per month some alternative political view. Overall compared to other news apps like BBC World or Reuters, the NZ Herald app is subpar. James Stevenson

Great app!

Great content. Perfect way to start my day. Need to re sign up for the subscription as I’m missing out on some interesting content.

Socially dominated content

The Herald will continue to lose its readers while it attempts to change the opinions and values of a nation through large volumes of highly opinionated articles that attempt to protect the poor and disadvantaged people in this country. The Herald was a news paper, now it is a manipulative propaganda channel for social democrats. Jacinda had her day and so has The Herald. While many accuse the gangs for making our residents feel unsafe, I believe the Herald has done far more damage to this country by highlighting their aggressive actions and by turning the poor against the wealthy. Therefore I look forward to its rapid demise alongside the rubbish TVNZ has been pushing for years.

Love the Herald app. Just a tap away and I’m given all the information about today’s news and around the world too, it’s handy for a person like me who is very interested into the crime news section.

Not the best. Not the worst.

Most of the articles can’t be read without subscribing to their “Premium” platform, so don’t expect a comprehensive selection of news. Poor grammar and punctuation are evident in many of the articles, and they are also repetitive. For free news, it’s OK, but don’t expect anything quality.

Great regular news

Loving all the up today date and regular news. I like the writing styles and that there is a wide variety of news put up from all around the world. I am finding that I can keeping more up today on current events thanks to the feeds on my facebook.

Way too right wing and publishing old washed up national and act leaders. Eg Richard Prebble. Political bias. Ignoring fair journalism and not keeping a toxic govt honest. Weak! I have pulled the app from my staff and businesses and will no longer find this app or support bias editors.

Turn off notifications

DHB64 on

I tried the notifications for breaking news but they sent me notifications for rubbish news (Justin Bieber was seen in Queenstown and other irrelevant stories). Without the notifications, the app is quite good

Sad state of reporting and reporters

Maggie6138 on

New Zealand

I read the Herald only after reading international publications first ie New York Times/ BBC/Fox as I have found over the years that generally NZ journalism is substandard and generally shows a centre left bias with no in-depth analysis. Treaty Bill a prime example of personal bias of journalism.

Bias

Transit125 on

You have ceased to provide a balanced portfolio of stories, the lopsided views of your contributing writers is ridiculous .
