We used this app for three different tours of the island and enjoyed every one of them! The information was great and we never would have experienced the island the same way without paying hundreds of dollars on bus tours. I highly recommend if you are renting a car and want to see all the different areas, especially the backyard rainforest. Worth the money!
We enjoyed the Grand Circle Tour of the Island. We did this tour on Christmas Day, so a few places were closed, but we managed to see so much! The beaches and parks were breathtaking, especially Sunset Beach on the North Shore. We loved all the fresh fruit along the way, and especially enjoyed our pineapple mango smoothies! The app gave us a good bit of history about the Native Hawaiians and their land. I highly recommend this app!
We rented a car and got so much out of the experience with the audio tour. It was entertaining, easy to follow, and very informative. It’s the perfect thing if you want to learn and have a heightened experience. Very well done!
So glad we did this. I was highly skeptical but decided to give this guide a try. The information was interesting and we were able to choose for ourselves which places to stop. Loved the food recommendations and we felt like we had our own private tour. Bonus - we could hear and understand everything unlike on a bus or trolley tour.

I was struggling to find good places to visit until I found this app. I wish I had downloaded this app first day I landed. A must have for everyone visiting Hawai. So much to see in Hawaii, bus tour can give you a quick preview, you need an app like this to guide you when driving on your own & at your own pace.
This was the second island we used Shaka for, like the Big Island it is like having a personal tour guide traveling with us.
Add well worth $20. Very informative, will highly recommend this app.
My sister and I decided to rent a car for our time in Waikiki so we would not be tethered to large group tours. When I found the Shaka guide, I was excited to use it but wasn’t 100% sure how it would work and how well it would work. From the second, I started my first tour I was blown away by how in depth the directions were, how entertaining and educational the stories were, and how delightful the presenter was. I would recommend this and will recommend this to everybody that I know that is heading to Hawaii and the other national parks. Thank you Shaka for making my Waikiki trip even better than what I thought it could be!
