The app uses your GPS only when necessary. Please remember that continual use of your GPS can dramatically deplete your battery. Be sure to pack a car charger for your tour.
IPAD NOTICE
You can use an iPad to take the tour, however, wifi-only iPads without GPS capability will not work.

Un MUST!
Nous avons acheté les tours pour l’île de Oahu et Big Island et nous avons fait un extraordinaire voyage. L’application (en anglais) nous guide vers les meilleurs attraits touristiques, sans prendre de données cellulaire, nous fait faire de petit détours pour voir des sites qui ne peuvent être visités par les bus de touristes et nous raconte des histoires intéressantes et pertinentes. Application facile d’usage.

We used the north shore tour to see as much as we could on our second day of vacation and boy did we see ALOT!! The guide was fantastic and we didn’t feel rushed and all the stops were timed really well. Highly recommend this tour if you’ve never been to the North Shore!!

This App was a big help on our tour of Oahu, and a lot of fun for the whole family.
Great Tours
We took two Shaka Guide tours: the Grand Circle Island Tour and the East Oahu Shoreline while in Oahu Dec 28 and 29. We have been to Oahu before and taken the bus-tours in the past. This self-driven tour is far superior because you get to complete these tours at your own pace. The information shared was very informative and entertaining. The narrator’s voice and chuckling had us cracking up. These tours are VERY MUCH a worth the investment and a tremendous savings in comparison to the bus tours. We had a car for two days. The first day we did the grand circle island tour and decided to use the second day to do the east shoreline tour. When purchasing the second of these tours, my family were talking about how they hoped the second tour was narrated by the same guy! And happily, it was! We will be going to either the big island or Maui in the future. We will certainly be looking for another Shaka Guide tour or two when we get there!
Great day but ….
We had a wonderful day touring the East Coast but the food recommendation, Daves ice cream in particular, was questionable. Can’t wait to try the next one!
Great Tour Guide - highly recommend!
We were so glad that we chose the Shaka Guide for our trip in Oahu. It was easy to use and the very informative. We also love the stories and fun facts they have. For future the app design improvements: it will be nice to have the option to add user’s own stops along the route, so they don’t need to open another map back and forth to pin a point for customized stops. Also, it makes more sense to prompt the tutorial once when user first downloaded and skip that going forward. Overall l, it’s very user friendly.
