OneEdit Pro Reviews

Dammit the dev needs to fix bugs

My first ever review 2 on

United Kingdom

When applying custom filters like changing values in the CMYK halftone filter it ignores all changes and applies the default values.

Over complicated

Thunderstarter on

United Kingdom

This app is way too over complicated, and not intuitive in the slightest. It also does not work. I batch resized some images into a new folder. When I went to Ftp them on my iOS device, they were still the original size!

So nearly great

Tramplite on

United Kingdom

This looked perfect for batch processing many photos, and it is... except it strips out all of your Exif data leaving it useless for my needs. Real shame and I hope that can be resolved.

I took a big risk in buying this app without first trialling it but after spending several hours reading the reviews of similar apps I was no closer to making my final choice. I was immediately attracted to OneEdit Pro because of its simple and logically designed user interface which reminded me of a conveyor belt. The input [photos to be edited] is on the left; the output [edited photos] is on the right and the editing control is in the middle. Each of these 3 sections has a strip of 'fine tuning' controls running along the top and bottom of each section. They select which photos will be edited, how they are to be edited and what to do with them post-editing. My very first attempt to rescale (25%) 7 photos failed because I did not understand how the control section worked but this is obviously key to the power and sophistication of this excellent app. Once I became familiar with the editing section I was able to rescale my 7 photos in around 5 seconds: a quick performer. If there are any programming bugs I have yet to encounter them.

Really useful tool in my "All iPad workflow"

Like another reviewer, I found the program very useful and quite intuitive, but would like to see portrait and landscape thumbs rather tan square.

It does the job.

This is the only app I've found that lets you set jpeg export quality - vital if you want to upload an image to a website. There are a few UI oddities, but it's fairly clear (if a bit fiddly) to use. I'm also really glad it has an attractive icon too.

Has the potential

Gorminator on

United Kingdom

This app has the potential to be a killer app for those of us that have the camera connection kit. However it falls short in the whole image resizing, and recorgnising rotated images area, ( in my case: images coming off a Panasonic GF1 ). I tried rotating in the app, and got squashed images, having tried again after rotating the images first in photos app, oneedit did not recognise that these images were now portrait, and thus because the image resize options are limited, I got squashed images. Once this is sorted out I will up the rating. This is so close to being an amazing app, just that this problem is a show stopper for me.

Batch edit is extremely inaccurate

Roseplums on

United States

This is a poorly made app that doesn't perform the advertised functions properly. I can look past the fact that this app feels unituitive and clunky, but it's frustrating that it performs batch processing with such inaccuracy to the point where it becomes useless. Batch editing is the core feature of this app that people buy it for, and this part should at least function properly. The batch functions of this app work very inconsistently from image to image and there is no way to manually correct the mistakes that it makes. Here are some issues that I noticed for the specific features that I tested out: 1) The text overlay doesn't work well. When I enlarge the text, it gets cut off in half horizontally and it becomes unreadable. Words from the text also get cut off even though the text is small enough that it should fit inside the image. Adding to the frustration is the fact that the text has to be typed & edited on a separate window, which means that I cannot see what I'm doing and have no idea how that text will look on the images. There are no text styling options like bold or italics. There is no opacity option for the text, so it's not possible to create semi-transparent text. Also, the text is highly inaccurate when it is batch processed to be applied to the different images. For example, I apply the text on the top middle part of one image but then it gets applied to the corner of another image, or to some completely random spot, or it just gets cut off altogether in some images and it's not visible at all. 2) The image overlay doesn't work well either. There's no opacity option, so the overlayed image cannot be made semi-transparent. The batch processing is also poor and inconsistent. The overlayed image shows up in varying sizes in the diferent images due to the images having different sizes. It looks smaller in larger images and bigger in smaller images. It doesn't scale proportionally according to the image size. 3) I tried using the background tool to apply a border to my images, but the border thickness isn't uniform in all images. On the larger images, the border is really thin. On the smaller images, the border looks very thick. The border is not scaled proportionally based on the size of the image. It keeps the same thickness without considering percentage in relation to the size of each image. 4) The circle crop crops the images differently from each other. Some images are cropped okay, some are cropped at irrelevant areas, and some are

Awesome app, one major bug

Love it everything about it, except it crashes with batches greater than 15 photos.
