Nominated for a Golden Geek in the Best Solo Board Game category, Onirim is a card game where you play as a dream walker, lost in a mysterious labyrinth. You must find the dream doors before the dream time runs out, or you will be trapped forever!
Will you wander around the dream chambers hoping that luck will reveal the doors, or will you meticulously explore each room type? Either way, you'll have to avoid the traps of the dreaded nightmares that haunt the labyrinth's corridors.
Onirim is a solitaire card game. You must beat the game by collecting all eight dream doors before you run out of cards. You can get them by playing cards of the same colour for three consecutive turns or by discarding one of your precious Key cards when you draw a Door card. In both cases, you will need to make the best use of the cards you have in your hand while paying attention to the Nightmare cards. These cards are mixed in with the others, and if you draw one, you will be faced with a painful choice.
In addition to single player play, Onirim offers players an intuitive interface, automatic deck management and statistics that measure progress and success.
Onirim includes the following elements:
- Shadi Torbey's Onirim base game in solo mode
- The original illustrations of the base game by Philippe Guerin and Élise Plessis, with animations
- A solo game mode
- A detailed interactive turn-by-turn tutorial integrated into the game
- Statistics recorded offline to allow you to see your progress
- No purchases or ads in the application
- Supported languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish

Onirim Reviews

Great game now the others

Joeu87 on

This is a great game both the physical and digital versions. The convenience of the digital lets me play anywhere anytime now just need at least some of the others in the series to have a digital version

Meh.

I think i would have enjoyed it but there are too many nightmares. Played three games and there is a nightmare every minute. First game I lost because deck ran out, second because i got 4 nightmares in a row so i forfeited, third because in 2 minutes i got three nightmares and besides the nightmares it wouldn’t let me discard for any reason so i forfeited again. Not challenging only frustrating so not fun.

Fun… looking forward to expansions

I really do appreciate that they made this app free, but the card draws are not actually random. For example, let’s say you have played a tan sun, and a tan moon, and you have a tan key in your hand that you’re about to play. You will draw nightmare a card, and if you try to simply discard five cards from the deck instead of discarding the key, or the whole hand, you will draw another nightmare card. And another, and another, if you repeat the pattern. The game wants that key. This has happened to me way too many times for it to be random chance. So it’s cool, but the game is hard enough as it is. I don’t understand why they added coding to make it artificially harder; it would be more fun if the card draws were truly random. Maybe it’s just a glitch; who knows?

Excellent One Player Card Game

This is a great digital version of the card game. It plays smoothly and it's very intuitive. This is one of those games that looks easy but really isn't. It's a good balance of luck and decision making allowing you win enough to keep playing but not so much that it isn't interesting.

Interesting concept but buggy

Tutorial doesn’t quite explain what happens with the circle symbol card. I discarded it and it showed me a prophecy-like effect but now I’m stuck and can’t close out without losing the game. Interesting concept but it’s not that fun.

Discard glitch

KaiBrennan on

I enjoyed this for about 10 minutes before discard stopped working making the game unplayable. Don’t bother.

Poorly Made Mechanics

Venichimo on

United States

Poorly made game leaves me wondering what to do next with no buttons to press except ‘restart.’ Glitchy, anticlimactic, and built against the player.
