Fantastic App!
I have been using this app for over 10 years and now I love it so much more!
To my knowledge, it’s the ONLY way to truly enjoy full 192kHz/24 100% out from my iPhone 15 Pro. You can also customize the EQ with sliders that can be added in real time to further “tweak” the sound!!!! (potentially thousands of them).
I have recently combined that with the excellent and well affordable Fiio K11 DAC ($129) and a pair of Sennheiser HD 660S2 headphones ($399) & 1 USB C - C wire ($9).
Absolutely Incredible Sound!!!!!!!!!
Does not function as it used to
This player worked beautifully and easily till something changed a couple of years ago. It’s virtually useless now. Cannot locate HiRes songs loaded by iTunes, has become so convoluted that I quit using it. In the search for a replacement.
It just doesn’t work
I have an iPhone 15 pro max and the DSD playback doesn’t work. Plus the software indicates it’s in beta. I want to request a refund (as I purchased the full version to play DSD) and their website is in an Asian language that I don’t even understand. Do not buy this pice of garbage.
Sort of but not great yet
I bought the Onkyo Hi Res player a while back, and it seems as though they’re just really not supporting it in English. Anyway, I reached out to the company and they directed me to a user manual in Japanese which I had to translate and even so it’s not useful because it doesn’t mention current iOS.
Crash on 17.1
Always crash when you launch at 17.1, please fix it
No longer works
The app no longer sees song in Apple Music. Tech support is in Japanese, and as I don't speak that language, its pretty much unavailable. So basically, a dead app.
Worked great pre iPhone 15 pro
Please update this app to work with DSD playback via the new USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
This was a great app using the Lightning Camera kit to many different Audio DACs.
Now it is only sending PCM over USB-C and not native DSD.
Please update for those of us who pay for DSD functionality. Thanks!! (Will change my review back to 5 stars once that is fixed)
Song Beginning Chopped Off
The beginning of (some) songs are chopped off by a split second. You can't hear the first drum beat! Other apps play these songs fine. Please fix.
Good for hidef but a few problems
I used the player on android and have iphone. Went to HF player because itunes/music on apple is a mess to use. HF plays a goid variety of formats. Downsides are: several menus are in Japanese only. And there is no CarPlay that i can tell.
Family sharing impossible
I bought this player a while ago but can’t share it with my family. Onkyo wants me to pay for this again!
I just wanted to share this with others.
