Great, but annoying
A great app with tons of promise, but severely let down by one extremely annoying bug - you can’t go more than a couple of minutes before the Tools menu stops working, and you have to close and reopen the document before it starts working again and you have to close and reopen your document to get it back. If this bug was fixed I would not hesitate to give five stars!
Onshape on iOS
Most of my CAD work is done on a PC with a 28 in 4K monitor, so I was prepared to be unimpressed with Onshape on an iPad. After using it for a while, I can honestly say this is app is amazing. If you are at all familiar with 3D modelling, you will find the learning curve easy, and that nearly all the features you require are there. The main negatives I have encountered so far: - dimensions are difficult to see when first added (in subsequent edits you can drag them to a new off-model position) - import/export options generally remove the ability to edit (though this is true for many other CAD systems) so if you want to transfer to a desktop you will need to use the web version of Onshape. - You are limited to the size/number of private files you are allowed (but once this limit is reached, you can add more public files or upgrade to the subscription option)
